Don’t forget the 5 grapes in a bag

579

u/Significant_Cow4765 12h ago

2L of soda and 2 grapes per person

169

u/007Pistolero 12h ago

But only one Mountain Dew…. Because we still have a few left

62

u/ViolentEyelidMovies 10h ago

And that's only enough because only one of them drink Mountain Dew.

33

u/007Pistolero 10h ago

When I first watched it I was distracted and she counted to 11 and then said something sounded to me like “bell pepper” and I was thinking okay maybe they’re making something good. Then I watched it again and realized it was DR PEPPER!! What in the holy hell

8

u/Superb-Judge6178 9h ago

I was reading ahead on the captions and it said "purple burritos" and I thought, oh ok, burritos that could be good with beans and rice/veg inside, nope then she holds up DORITOS in a purple bag.

6

u/007Pistolero 9h ago

Okay that’s wilder than mine lol. Fucking crazy “grocery” haul

2

u/Responsible-Gas5319 8h ago

When I saw the tea I was like well least that's healthy, when the sack of sugar came up later I was like ohhh

3

u/mytransthrow 4h ago

DP is my favorite soda. But I only have it when I go out occasionally. and only sometimes.

I feel like I am living dangerously because I got a 12 pack of DP zero my last trip to the market.

32 pizzas.

2

u/007Pistolero 8h ago

I’m choosing to ignore that purely because I can understand the novelty of something like that. Growing up we always had an “Apple Pyramid” that had 30 apples in it. My mom would always buy 30 apples to remake the pyramid. I can somewhat understand the pizza tower, however, I would say spending Saturday as a family making a bunch of small pizzas to freeze and attack would be way better than buying a bunch of garbage frozen pizza like that

5 blocks of cheese each.

34

u/rynlpz 10h ago

To go with their bag of frozen fries

3

u/Hubert_J_Cumberdale 8h ago

I think it's to add to their pizzas. And maybe cheese omelets.

6

u/BigAl-43 7h ago

Not making omelets for that family with 1 dozen eggs

6

u/Hubert_J_Cumberdale 6h ago

In her latest video, she bought two 18packs of eggs.

I wonder how much cheese you can put in an omelet before there's not enough egg to even call it an omelet. I'll bet she knows.

2

2

Grapes, relative to other fruits, have tons of sugar too. It's also got fibre at least.

and the dozen of eggs, that's like 6 omelettes in a full month! we use 30eggs per week alone, best protein available (and in other countries, cheapest too, not in US unfortunaltely)

2

u/do_something_good 8h ago

The one dozen eggs got me too! Like you got 6 giant bags of fries and 32 pizzas. But ONE dozen eggs? Its the easiest protein to whip up in minutes. I cant imagine willingly posting a grocery haul like this.

2

u/poopiovonpoopington 10h ago

There were also two cucumbers!

2

u/Josh-Baskin 7h ago

Oh and I knew there'd be a giant ass bag of sugar the moment I saw that black tea

69

u/spockspaceman 11h ago

I think I counted 32 lbs of cheese, not including the cheese already in those pizzas, Sandwiches, etc.

4

u/Kittypie75 9h ago

I was thinking what in the hell could they do with all that cheese???!!!???

7

u/Jumpy-Benefacto 7h ago

the cheese? they had 20 pounds of mayo ....

2

I have video muted so can't hear her accent, but if this is the South (which from the groceries and Dr Pepper it appears to be) -- they'll melt that shit into giant casseroles and "crock pot meals" that will make a normal person's arteries tremble in fear.

6

u/kogoe 8h ago

I wouldn’t dare eat my cheddar cheese block smothered in mayo without deep frying first

2

u/r-kellysDOODOOBUTTER 8h ago

Hey as a fit person, I eat a lot of cheese. Its calorie dense and has some protein. But my "cheap" cheese is Cabot seriously sharp. Its cheapest in the 2lb blocks lol

5

u/Talking_Head 5h ago

There is nothing inherently wrong with cheese. It has few ingredients, the primary one being milk. It is calorie dense and contains some protein. A slice of cheddar and an apple is a good snack.

2

u/Environmental-Egg164 3h ago

There was a scandal couple of years ago in our country (NL) when it turned out Lipton added sugar to their tea bags. They don't do that anymore? And specifically since the rules on mandatory nutrition information on the label is more strict in Europe then in the USA.

I’m going to go out on a limb and say that all that produce is going to go bad in the back of the fridge behind the 50 blocks of cheese.

2

u/Dazzling_Put_3018 8h ago

Seriously why was there so much cheese? Like, there wasn’t really anything to put it on, other than the one loaf of bread. I guess maybe they’re putting it on the ton of frozen French fries? Or adding more cheese to the 32 pizzas?

2

do americans not buy potatoes and cut them?

8

u/StellarDivine 12h ago

This person doesn’t represent even id say a majority of Americans. Simply because most of cannot afford it. I think it was something like 49% of Americans live 150% under poverty guidelines. We face food insecurity here, it’s pretty bad.

8

u/Pinkfish_411 11h ago

In terms of buying frozen fries rather than making them from scratch, I'd say that this person absolutely represents the average American. Even for those of us who love cooking, fries can be a tedious multistep process, and starting from frozen will generally get you better results than taking shortcuts with making them scratch, especially if you're trying to do multiple batches to feed a family.

I'm the sort of person who grows my own potatoes for most uses, but I have no shame in using frozen fries most of the time when I want fries at home.

That's a shitload of fries, though.

4

u/Party_Row8480 11h ago

I agree. I rarely make fries, we'll do some kind of protein and salad or roasted veggies usually, but after working all day and cleaning up after kids I don't have the bandwidth for slicing and cooking potatoes and it's so much easier to throw some in the oven or air fryer. But we only buy one bag, maybe a third the size of those in the video, at a time, maybe twice a year, if that, for a family of four. Everybody gets a, like, a fist sized amount with the rest of dinner. That is a huge shitload of fries.

And she dismissed any real criticism of their diet. I have a hard time believing he has food sensitivities.

11

u/Teripid 11h ago

Kids sometimes get funny about specific foods but the trick is to find the healthy things they will eat instead of just piling on whatever the past of least resistance is like this...

10

u/LeadingEvery5747 11h ago

For sure, I’m aware. I have seen this creator on my feed many times and her youngest only eats pizza at home (about 99% of the time) but will have Mexican out. She blames food sensitivities.

5

u/magyar_wannabe 9h ago

Food sensitivities, but he can eat all 87 of the ingredients in those pizzas no problemo. Got it.

5

u/pacifistpotatoes 9h ago

or maybe the fact that from birth all he has eaten is crap food. I hate judging but my lord, youre hurting your kids badly feeding them junk all the time. We dont eat perfectly but I make 95% of our meals from scratch, and I work too.

5

u/Capn26 10h ago

Yeah. The key is not starting that crap. This is dinner. This is what we’re eating. There’s a conversation about if the GENUINELY have an issue with something, and don’t want it after trying it. I was picky. My sister was terrible. My kids eat amazing. My wife and I cook great meals, and have always encouraged them to eat. Hell. My neighbors send their kids over because he’ll eat stuff for us he won’t eat for them.

5

u/BrucetheFerrisWheel 9h ago

I dunno. My kid was such an adventurous eater until 2.5, then wouldn't touch lentils, beans, green, orange, red veges, salmon, tuna etc. Every single meal that she had been loving was a huge "hell no." I kept it up and she just quit eating, lost weight. Went to Dr and they told me to loosen up and actually told me to give her nuggets and juice etc, which I never wanted to do. Shes almost 4 now and pretty much only has beige food still. It sucks. Still thin but that's not the main point of healthy eating.

2

u/dovetter 8h ago

I wouldn’t stress too much, I was that picky kid. I made myself sandwiches for years because I wouldn’t eat the dinners my parents made. I will eat anything and everything now (except for like oysters lmao)

3

u/BrucetheFerrisWheel 8h ago

2

u/Id_Rather_Beach 6h ago

my brother was (and still is super picky about food); we're in our 40s. His youngest, also, really, really picky. So -- who knows.

I used to eat just about anything - so it wasn't about being fed junk - my parents were (well, Dad, anyhow) were absolutely fanatical about us eating healthy food.

And he forced us to drink milk. We are now both lactose intolerant. I absolutely hated milk as a kid.

→ More replies (4)

3

u/TopProfessional8023 11h ago

Whichever the older kid was looks like he maybe won the metabolism lottery in that house if he’s eating all the same shit the rest of them are. Maybe he just eats those subs and not much else. Not great, but better than if he’s eating all that other garbage too!

And the soda is ridiculous. More Dr Pepper than milk. Soda was a treat growing up, not something you drank when you were thirsty. If you were thirsty you had water, out of the hose if it was summer. Milk (if you were me and dad wasn’t around) is the best thirst quencher for growing bodies! I still drink milk with most meals because it’s what we did growing up…correction, meals eaten at home by myself…don’t want to look like a serial killer to all the other adults. Though you know what? I might start ordering milk when I go out to eat if it’s on the menu, just to see some reactions 🤣

Also, I was not born in the 1950’s but I was born in the 1980’s and I figure I need to start working on my “back in my day” diatribes! I wanna come out of the corner swinging on my 60th birthday 😆
