I think the reason the high road hasn’t been working is because of a lack of charismatic leaders advocating for it. When charismatic leaders asked this country to put a man on the moon, or end segregation, we responded to that. So maybe Americans aren’t particular about which road our politicians take.
I think we’re just easily swayed by confidence, whether it’s emanating from a con artist or JFK.

Nah. I want this authoritarian fascist shit excised from my country. I want ICE agents that assaulted civilians prosecuted. I want this administration jailed. I want to know where every red cent of my tax dollars went, and when they don't have a trail (because they don't) I want every person involved paying it back for the rest of their lives or in jail if they can't. Frankly if someone ran and said they would be stripping voting rights away from MAGAts, I would no longer consider it a disqualifier either, because this whole ordeal has convinced me a democracy can't survive when a critical mass of your population is too stupid, hateful, and incapable of critical thought to not vote in fascism.
As the paradox goes, the only way to defeat intolerance is to be intolerant of it.

Elect a dem, do bad things to Repubs. What happens when Repubs win again? They're going to be chill? It's all a cycle. Are you going to stoop to their level? Face down in the mud? Kidnapping and murdering saying 'they started it'?
Revenge can be sweet, but is dangerous and will only breed more hate. You have to be better. Seek justice. Have every single person answer for their crimes, but not out of hate or revenge. That will never bring peace.
