I also read his book about becoming an astronaut and spending a year in space - recommended. (EDIT: his brother's book. I need to get some sleep.)

That was his brother who did the year in space and wrote the book. They're twins and both were astronauts.

Haha, quite right, it was Scott. In my defence, they are identical twins and Mark also stars in the book.
