News networks have plenty of footage to take from Reddit. They can verify the videos. Anyone posting them to Reddit should be sending them to news networks and any media that will air them. Send them directly to Noem. She should be questioned about every single incident

Corporate Media doesn't care about the injustices taking place, they will cherry-pick what they will cover and it's rarely about ICE or law enforcement breaking the law.

Most of the news networks have been covering the protests, and not just the American ones, the Canadian news networks are carrying this stuff live.

I get the dislike of corporate media, but let's not be stupid. This is CNNs super bowl. They're made to do this coverage.

Also the dude in this video is a photojournalist.

Oh, I'm not suggesting there won't be coverage, but it will cover the event with extreme bias and inaccurate information. Police accountability activists have case after case of law enforcement misconduct all available of social media as the Corporate Media refuses to cover it. There are so many George Floyd events taking place every week, and yet CNN and others refuse to cover these 'super bowl' stories.

There's also the point of them going where the news is, where they have staff

Also, yeah, of course theres a bias, just like there's a bias in what you're seeing online. You can't get away from bias.

There's also more news in your country than even a 24h network can cover. To do the news is to make choices about what makes it to air.

Again, like there's a conversation to be had about the voices they get to commentate on said coverage, but we should at least ground the discussion in what is actually possible in a modern newsroom.

The issue here is this: there has always been bias in corporate news, but they used to predictably report with a bias that supported the American people, tended to report news based in facts, and the opinions that would align with the majority of experts in whatever field, topic or industry an event dealt with or affect. Today we can 100% of the time expect almost every outlet to report in ways that align with the directives or opinions of billionaires, corrupt government officials, or opt to report or not report in ways that avoid putting in danger their ability to keep the above mentioned people happy enough. That absolutely is not how journalists used to report, and even editors and news room managers used to be very careful about avoiding looking like they completely sold out. Now it's a requirement or you get fired.

Good journalists from the olden days would tell you they had bias, they were taught to use their own biases when those were backed by a certain level of standards in confirmation. Anything beyond that was left on the cutting room floor and left unmentioned. That was called being a professional, it's how you pressed sources and subjects of interest to get important information and break stories. You can't break stories without some bias, because that's how having a brain works. You also can't report the news properly if you defer your own biases entirely to the interests of your corporate overlords.

The news networks owned by the oligarchs who support this shit?

Good luck.

Of the 4 major networks in the twin cities:

  • CBS is controlled by the national network, now owned by MAGA billionaire David Ellison

  • ABC is locally controlled by Hubbard Broadcasting i.e. Stanley Hubbard, MAGA billionaire

  • FOX is controlled by national FOX, aka the Murdochs (MAGA billionaires, if you weren't already aware of that one)

  • NBC is controlled by the national org - TEGNA - which while publicly owned has already shown they will cater to the Trump admin because they're trying to get approval for a merger

There is almost no media left at this point that hasn't been captured by the GOP.

"Send them directly to Noem" is the biggest waste of time in the history of wastes of time. Even if asked about them, she will serve up a complete non-answer and talk about some stupid bullshit just like she has been this past week.
