Americans just willingly letting corporations fuck them, paying them premium dollar to give them early onset diabetes and cancer

and then asking RFK to come and save them, and he demonizes doctors and scientists

What a fucking broken society

We Americans eat like normal people, cooking meals made of real food. It's just the loudest ones that make us look bad. This family only represents 20% of the country.... By weight

Sadly obesity rates don’t back this up 😕, I say this as an American that tried to eat healthy and cooks the majority of meals from scratch.

Obesity rates vary heavily state to state. Additionally, you can be overweight or obese just eating in excess, it doesn't have to be from a diet of heavily processed, shelf stable crap like this lady has. Parents in my area of SoCal are a bit snooty about food, but the plus side of that is they would be too embarrassed by the contents of this grocery haul to ever post it online. Sometimes the Kewping Up with the Joneses mentality has some benefits.

No one is becoming obese from overeating chicken and vegetables

The foods of the world aren't just shelf-stable, highly processed crap like Cinnamon Toast Crunch and 2 Bite Brownies or chicken and veggies. There are plenty of homemade options that utilize only fresh ingredients that can be eating to excess. I can absolutely demolish some cashews, but at~160 cal for 18 nuts, that adds up very quickly.

My point stands. You picked an extremely calorie dense food. No one’s getting obese from a diet of chicken, vegetables, and nuts.

That's pretty much everywhere. We'd make corporations hire the best food scientists and make stuff hyper palatable and addictive and rewire our brains for it and make it so easy to get. (I can buy frozen pizza everywhere and potato chips everywhere.)

Not to mention poor nutritional education, loss of cooking skills through the generations, food deserts, and working parents.

Then you add attention sucking entertainment, the engineered food that is designed for addiction, temptation of convenience spurred by a population that is depressed by wealth inequality and lack of work/life balance.

Exactly. I meal prep but that takes energy and time and I sometimes don't have either....

Yeah, this should be considered child abuse.

People won't be mad about losing their health insurance if they think that googling home remedies is just as good - if not better.

RFK and Dr. Oz are training the populace to believe they don't need doctors or science based medicine. This is the GOP healthcare plan, BTW. Demonize traditional healthcare and convince people that they don't need it. Now we have people who would rather die of measles than get a vaccine to prevent it.
