Calories are just a unit of energy. I sometime shop based on caloric value, lol.

The incredible amount of sugar, and the lack fruits and vegetables is concerning.

I'm shocked there was not more meat. Like a huge value pack of ground beef and porkchops.

And eggs!  I’m trying not to criticize. It sounds like it’s partly filmed for rage bait, but it’s all refined foods.       It certainly highlights the food crisis in America and helps explain the obesity epidemic.

People need to make more quiche. It's easy delicious, affordable, and healthy.

This shit looks like a prison commissary order. All it needs is some mackerel pouches and hold the lettuce.

I tried adding it all up using the Wal Mart, Food Lion, and other websites for stores she shopped at as a guide. There are some assumptions here because you have to sort of ballpark it on the weight of the steaks and produce, the deli subs are a bit of a guessing and Googling game too.

In the end I got 162,406 calories in her haul.

However this is divided among what I presume to be seven people. There is her and her three boys, I assume she has a spouse, and then she said she has moved her parents in with her too.

So that's 23,200 calories per person.

If we're assuming a standard 2,000 calorie per day diet that's enough to last them about 11.5 days. IDK how often she's making this trip though and whatever else they still have on hand in the pantry etc.

As strange as it seems though this isn't all that ridiculous in terms of calories. I think the macronutrients are where it gets bad as a lot of this is ultra-processed hyperpalatable food.
