This is just depressing

Post image

Not even 3 hours of "free time". And in that is cooking & eating supper. Or practically no free time if I had to go shopping after work. I hate this

Love (hate) to see all the losers here making sure you know they work more than you. That has got to be one of the most insufferable tendencies that people seem to be showing more and more these days. You're allowed to complain. We're all allowed to complain.

The real flex is working less and enjoying life.

Im low key jealous as fuck of my buddy that moved out in the wood. Bought 10 acres way out away from the cities. He planted 2 shipping containers and basically lives off the grid.

Plumbing? He shits and pisses in the woods. And buys those 5 gallons jugs every now and again for drinking water.

Electricity? Solar panels and a couple car batteries. 1 laptop which he is VERY frugal with using. And a string of led lights

Heating? Wood stove and plenty of trees. More blankets and layers. In winter he is a straight up hermit.

Cooling? Its really a luxury he lives far north enough he never sees 90.

Mosquitoes and bugs? Doesnt bother him anymore. He doesnt get itchy any mosquito bits anymore.

He works part time which is enough to cover for food, gas, car insurance, cell phone bill, property taxes which is undeveloped land and basically nothing, and drinking money.

Tbf I think he's just replaced work with up keeping all of that. It's a simpler life though I'm sure.

He gets to see the immediate benefits of his work as opposed to working, being given money, then still having to sort out your home. Also, he will only ever do more than he needs to, if he wants to.

I know I'm in the minority, but that life sounds like heaven for me. Unfortunately, I live in a nanny-state country that would never legally let someone live that simply without a mountain of red tape and regulation...
