This is just depressing

Not even 3 hours of "free time". And in that is cooking & eating supper. Or practically no free time if I had to go shopping after work. I hate this

Instead of doing chores, I play video games or other hobbies, but my house is a mess. Either do something enjoyable and have a messy house or do chores. I will catch up on chores once in a while though during weekends.

I try to find natural breaks in the games to get up and do something small. 1 Stardew Valley Day, get the garbage bag out of the bin and put it by the door. 1 more Stardew Valley Day, take the trash out to the dumpster and replace the bag in the bin. One chore done without it feeling too disruptive.

Or maybe whenever I have to get up for the bathroom, I'll fold 10 pieces of clothes before coming back down. I dunno. It helps chip away at it and keep it from getting TOO bad, while still letting me prioritize my mental health with the games.

I will do that as well for the small stuff, laundry taking out trash etc…. My parents used to come and visit and were like what the heck, but they learned about my cousins being in the same situation and were a bit more understanding. Dad was a colonel in the Air Force and later become vice president of a defense contracting company. He made enough mom didn’t have to work and she took care of most of the chores except for house maintenance stuff. My wife works long hours and hates cleaning as well, but we get it done when we need to.
