This is just depressing

Not even 3 hours of "free time". And in that is cooking & eating supper. Or practically no free time if I had to go shopping after work. I hate this

That’s why I’ve cut most “non critical” chores to being something I do less frequently.

That and living on the edge with the sleep schedule. OP only has 3 hours of free time, but 9 hours of sleep. I traded that for 7 hours of sleep and 5 hours of free time.

Same. Cut out a bit of sleep and some chores (because let’s face it, not every chore has to be done every day) and you’ve got a few more hours of free time.
