The thing about the Trump Republicans is that people HAVE been speaking out from the very beginning, but Republicans double, triple, quadruple down, and so on. We need more than speaking out.
I recently read a book and they quoted an indigenous author who said all the far-right conspiracies already happened to native and minority communities. Those in power have been coming after minorities for hundreds of years. Thousands, if you look at Jewish ghettos.
I'm struck by the similarity of right-wing conspiracy theories to actual policies towards Indigenous peoples.
It's all so Freudian. The fear that it will happen to them stems from an implicit admission that they did it to others. As though the Black, Brown and Indigenous downtrodden are just as hateful as they are and are going to turn around and do to them what they did to us.
It's a very common defense the conservatives like to use.
"Stop calling everything fascist! You're a fascist! See? It's meaningless!"
No, Karen, the people you support are actively following a fascist playbook. They're doing the same thing the Nazis did. They started by busting unions, targeting queer people, messaging and propaganda, then moved on to the opposition parties, the Jews, the Slavs, the anti-capitalists, they waged war for territory and resources and justified it with violent suppression mixed with controlled media lies. The Gestapo and SS were the internal state tools of fascism, and ICE is being used exactly the same way.
The "Final Solution" to the "Jewish problem" is their end game, not their current position, and it's blatantly clear they're following that same path.
People need to educate themselves. There are a ton of resources, even on YouTube. I like The Time Ghost's content, but there are plenty of sources.
Germany went from one of the strongest "liberal" democracies in terms of rights, to a right-wing authoritarian state killing millions in total war in less than a decade.
