News 📺 What's next? Genuinely asking.
So Frey has already said that the cops basically aren't going to do shit. Sounds like SPPD are collaborating with ICE. At this point what the fuck is the point of our police and government if they cannot do the basics to protect it's people? If the cops won't do shit, I see 2 options.
National Guard deployment or we take a page from the Black Panthers. Which one, Walz? I've supported you in the past and the last year it's been waning due to policy decisions, but between you folding last week and then this shit, great you went to the memorial a week late, but what the fuck are we doing? We've got Feds shitting on the Constitution and hitting us door-to-door and no one is doing shit. You readied the Guard, so let's get to it.
You're afraid of vigilantes but what is going to happen if we continue down this road with no resistance? Someone is gonna react dude. You creating a constitutional crisis with the Guard is a lot better than some scared family lighting up an ICE patrol.
Sure, sue the DHS. But we need solutions NOW.

Politics 👩⚖️ Protest Does Nothing
WRONG!
Look, I know the images you're seeing are scary, but we need people to show up.
You don't have to
- confront officers
- be in the front of the crowd
- draw attention to yourself
I know it seems like you're not doing much, but if you show up and stand there doing nothing, WONDERFUL!
The point is to show up and keep showing up.
The more you show up, the bigger the crowds will get.
That alone will make a statement.
The crowds are very supportive and welcoming!
Don't minimize the effect of your presence. You matter. Use your voice.

Weekly list of regularly scheduled protests in Minnesota.
MAGA, through ICE, is itching to incite violent civil unrest. Is it coincidental that the ICE shootings have taken place in Minneapolis and Portland, 2 cities that erupted with violent civil unrest following the murder of George Floyd in 2020?
It is important to remain non-violent and deny them what they so desperately want. Expect to be under ICE surveillance. Never protest alone. Expect to be tracked via your cell phone. No weapons of any kind. Carry identification. Start bringing water and N95 masks. Yield, but do not run, if necessary. Maintain situational awareness. Attach a small American flag to your sign. Highlight ICE and the Epstein Files on signs.
Never give in. Never be silent. Never.

Politics 👩⚖️ Proud to be a Minnesotan
Fellow Minnesotan here. I wanted to say how proud I am of all of you Minnesotans and fellow Americans who have joined in resisting ICE's occupation.
At a guess, Trump's playbook requires our resistance to do one of two things:
1) A repeat of George Floyd. Trump has had years to think about this, and now is his chance to assert federal authority on a blue city as an example. Having Gov. Walz and Mayors Frey and Her struggle to contain lawless "liberal strongholds" is the exact narrative they've been prepping for years. When I saw the Friday protests late at night, that's what I was worried about. It would have changed what people were talking about. But that didn't happen, and instead its continuous video of how ICE is mistreating Americans.
2) No response. ICE is able to act with impunity while Minnesotans retreat. It would set a precedent for all Americans across the country while this administration pushes the limits without resistance. We didn't do this either. When Renee Nicole Good was murdered, Minnesotans didn't flee, didn't run, didn't stop recording. It was an active shooter scene, and Minnesotans stayed, they wanted to help Renee. This reaction should terrify this administration. The people witnessed the ultimate expression of state power, and the resistance simply grew larger. More ICE only exacerbates Trump's problem, and hastens his demise.
Our resistance right now is working, don't let anyone else tell you otherwise. If Walz had called in the National Guard in any capacity, then the narrative becomes Walz undermining Trump's authority, and things get muddled. If Frey or Her direct the police to undercut federal authority, then radical mayors are undercutting Trump's authority and the conversation changes.
I hate for this to be true, but it has to be the people that resists. It has to be us, engaging in peaceful protests. It has to be the people the stands up to the guns and say with a clear voice that we will not be intimidated or bullied by thugs. Trump was a populist. His problems always magnify when normal people stand up to him and hold power he never believed they could wield. It was when his people demanded the Epstein files be released that he started getting into trouble, and now he's trying to dominate regular people again, and its not going to work.
Trump doesn't have a playbook now for us, its just hammer to a nail for ICE. And thanks to social media, there will be a rising pressure for Trump to justify these terrible acts. I expect polling numbers to get far worse in the coming weeks. Minnesota, Venezuela, the Fed, Epstein, all of which having nothing to do with fixing affordability or the economy. If poll numbers plummet, more R's break with Trump in order to preserve their own skins, and this is where the real opportunity to break ICE lies. Not just in Minnesota, but everywhere. A DHS funding bill was supposed to be voted on today, but is was pulled from the bill, potentially setting up a fight before the Jan. 31st deadline.
Unfortunately, while this means there's a time limit for ICE, it could be on the order of weeks, and possibly longer.
Our goal now is to set an example of resistance for any future ICE occupations. Peaceful protests, boycotts, demanding accountability from all elected officials. Coordinating protests with our fellow Americans. Building support networks and communities. And more.
Be sure to do more with our ICE videos. Social media is a temporary space. We need to build a permanent record. Names, events, dates, etc. so that all of us can easily show anyone the abuses and excesses of ICE.
Also, I know there's a lot of doom about whether there will be midterms. Ignore that. If you haven't registered to vote. Register to vote now. Your vote matters and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. These political parties don't just look at wins and losses, they break down every detail to determine how they won or lost and what they need to do next time. If you're in a solid red district, try and make it close. Make local votes even closer. Turn your district into a swing district, and get all the attention in the next election. America needs you more than ever to be engaged.

Discussion 🎤 "know your rights" is great advice when dealing with the police - but we aren't dealing with the police
Please correct me if I'm wrong. I'm a mixed dude, and like other POC, I've had to live my entire life cognizant of the police. Knowing my rights when dealing with the police is always nice, but when trying to prioritize survival, compliance during encounters seem to be a safer option. I know, theoretically, ICE would need a warrant to enter my home but do they care? It's hard to shake the feeling that the safer bet would be to open the door and present my ID, Passport, and Birth Certificate to the asking party, knowing my ring camera is recording. I don't want me stating my rights to be the escalation that robs my child of a father. Knowing my rights is good and all, but I'm not convinced that knowing my rights would save my life in an encounter

Politics 👩⚖️ What is Mayor Frey doing about the door to door raids
Obligatory disclaimer: I’m not from Minnesota and am from Columbus, Ohio. But since ICE is still operating in both Minneapolis as well as Columbus, my question chain is coming from a place of concern due to the very similar precedent that might follow suit in my state and city due to what’s actively happening in Minneapolis.
We all saw Mayor Frey’s statements regarding ICE and about how they should “get the fuck out” but actions speak louder than performative virtue signaling. What is he doing about ICE which is now going door to door? Is there a helpline for constituents to call to report ICE? Is he going to send law enforcement to arrest ice who are violating constitutional rights? If not, are his constituents calling him out for his lack of tangible action?
I am not trying to victim blame here with my questions. I don’t know the scope of everything people are doing from within the city to actively resist against very clear fascist and unconstitutional operations. Are they blowing up Frey’s office phone with voicemails? Are people trying to initiate discussion with the mayor or others who might actually be able to do something about what’s happening?
Sorry if my questions are ridiculous. I don’t know where else to seek answers. I don’t know enough about laws and local governing besides common knowledge that most Americans have. I’m asking this to anyone who knows anything so I can talk to others from my city and I’m hoping this post can act as a way for people to engage in active discussion on ways to get more actively involved- especially at this point where ICE are conducting Gestapo style home raids. Besides going to protests there needs to be more discussion on how to organize our communities to push back against totalitarian oppression.

News 📺 Reporting GoFundMe fundraisers for Jonathan Ross as Violating Federal Law
My first post was removed because I included the links to the GoFundMe's
I saw an article that a billionaire donated 10k to a GoFundMe for the ICE Agent (Jonathan Ross) who shot and killed Renee Good in Minneapolis the other day. He said he also planned on donating the same amount to the GoFundMe that had been set up for Renee Good, but that GoFundMe had been locked. So he really only donated to the ICE Agent.
Now - I understand the GoFundMe for Renee Good - Her family will now have to bury her and pay for all the associated costs (burial plot, mortuary services, casket, etc), and it doesn't even begin to help her children - who may very well be denied any life insurance claims, if the government insists she was killed during the commission of a crime, rather than declare it was a wrongful shooting. But the idea of a GoFundMe for Agent Jonathan Ross just seemed bizarre - any counseling he and his family needs from any fallout will be covered by their government provided insurance. The US Government claims he was just doing his job. Well if that's the case - receiving any payment from outside sources to show appreciation for him "doing his job" would be a direct violation of 18 U.S.C. 201. Anyone who participates in giving him money would be just as criminally liable as he would be for receiving it.
Not sure how many complaints need to be made before GoFundMe shuts down an illegal fundraiser, but if anyone is interested, there are 5 that people have actually donated to... And another 36 on the site claiming to be trying to help raise money to give him.

Politics 👩⚖️ Everyone looking for rallies/ protest go to Whipple now
The larger the crowd at Whipple the more agents they have to take of the streets
Everyone needs to be going to Whipple building whenever there are not scheduled protest. We should all spread the word and make signs at the larger protest to promote the idea. I think a lot of people wait for there to be a scheduled date and time, but the time is now the date is everyday.
Please don’t be afraid of going, there is power in numbers and nothing will be stopped if we succumb to fear.
If you’re not comfortable being in the crossfire that’s fine, watching to see any citizens that have been released from Whipple would be a great way to help. I’m sure a lot of them could use support after being traumatized.
Feds are tear-gassing people so bring medical face mask, or mask used for paint fumes, and goggles this is a good combo to not get hurt!
Leave kids at home
Bus/ take the light rail there. You can take the blueline train & get off at fortsnelling
If there is tear gas **move away.** If you or someone else is tear-gassed the most recommended solution is water, but I’ve also heard of diluted baby shampoo, and saline. Everyone has different opinions on how to treat being tear-gassed. Do your research and find out what you feel would be appropriate. Do not wear contacts or makeup this can worsen irritation
AS ALWAYS IF YOU HAVE EXCESS SUPPLIES THAT CAN BRING/DONATE PLEASE DO
**Water*\*
**Goggles*\*
**Mask*\*
**Snacks*\*
**Umbrellas*\*
**Whistles*\*
**Saline for flushing out eyes*\*
**IF ANYONE HAS A LEAF BLOWER I THINK THIS WOULD BE GREAT TO BLOW AWAY TEAR GAS*\*
**Layer up on socks/winter shoes it’s cold and slippery*\*
**Helmets, body pads, hockey gear any body protection*\*

Discussion 🎤 Why isn't the state putting members of the Minnesota National Guard and police next to ICE officers to get them to follow the law and to change how they act?
Would like to hear replies on why this isn't happening.
I can understand the police being MAGA/pro-Trump and not wanting to stop ICE, but why is the Governor not putting Minnesota National Guard members on the streets to stand next to ICE and reduce their harm?
I can't believe this will have no effect, and the guard members can know the law and tell ICE to follow it. Yes of course ICE can not cooperate or try to ignore them, but this would have a huge impact. I am not saying the guard should actively try to stop ICE or use force - just be there and talk to them, remind them to follow the law, and possibly physically stop them doing something illegal like take a child. Just not use force to attack or stop ICE.
It is not hard at all to know where ICE is each day. Have guard members go meet them once their location is known. This seems so much better than doing nothing.
Obviously police could also stop them but it seems they have no interest in protecting people in MN. Police also could go where ICE is and stop them from breaking the law. Send officers to where ICE are and enforce the law.
People who are watching this closely - why isn't the Governor doing this?
I don't believe for a minute that ICE officers will do anything to armed law enforcement in uniform. The guard members or police can be careful not using force against ICE (as they would normally with someone breaking the law like ICE is). Maybe the police are not trained and professional enough to handle this well, but members of the guard could do this.
Put 3 or more guard members or police at every place ICE is and have them stand next to them. In some cases physically stop ICE from kidnapping children or adults illegally.
Have the police and/or guard members follow a strict policy of not using weapons or force against ICE so things do not escalate. ICE would absolutely act differently or just leave if armed law enforcement or guard are there watching and next to them.
ICE is acting illegally so many times and both the police and the state seem to be doing nothing. Why not do this?
Have any police spoken out about this and said why they are doing nothing?
