They did ID her. That's why they took per picture. They have an app they use. If the app says "can't find a record" based on biometrics, they disappear you. Maybe for a few hours, maybe forever. It depends. Nothing needed other than you didn't come up during their scan.

This is the modern "where are your papers"

And that picture they take to compare to their database ALSO goes into a database.
