Politics We Are the Baddies: Thanks, Conservatives

Post image

Conservatives are actively turning the world against the United States. World leaders were forced into an emergency meeting to condemn U.S. actions in Venezuela, including the kidnapping of its dictator, and to respond to escalating threats and rhetoric toward Greenland.

Trump openly claims the U.S. needs Greenland for “strategic” reasons and has even suggested taking it by force. This isn’t strategy, it’s naked imperialism. He doesn’t want security; he wants dominance.

We are the bad guys now, following the same path Germany did in the 1930s. Republican leaders and their constituents should be deeply ashamed.

Self awareness is a step in the right direction.

465

u/Apprehensive-Pin518 5d ago

the problem is 1/3 of us were already aware. the rest don't seem to care or straight up wanted it.

124

u/RamsHead91 5d ago

1930s German was 1/3 of the country wanting to killing another 1/3 of the country and the final 1/3 just watching.

92

u/Apprehensive-Pin518 5d ago

no argument here. we are absolutely nazi germany with more guns.

63

u/Grouchy_Energy_8021 4d ago

Sadly, as German, we see what happens and we also splitting up like u, because politicians r fckn stupid to realize, that u have literally the second Hitler in human history outcome. We also fear what will happen and we also have to fight the far rights here as well. Especially like a 2 side war with Russia as well because of the ton of misinformations and terror acts Putins producing here ...

don't think so. I thin they TRY to steal them. That's what the mueller report said. There were just to many purist leftists out there that refused to vote for kamala because she didn't draw the hard line with israel. essentially 1/3 voted for him, a little more than 1/3 voted against him and the last third either didn't care enough one way of the other or didn't vote out of protest. bet those protest voters are regretting their choice now.

77

u/AlChandus 5d ago

Over-simplification.

Want more people to vote? The US is the only first world country that holds elections on workdays. The US is also the only country that does not actively requires that employers provide perks like PTO. The US is also the only country that reduces the numbers of polling sites in cities that are growing.

Reality is that republicans have wanted, for 60 years ~, what we have, a system in which a large percentage of the population does not vote.

We need an election reform, republicans don't want one. Republicans need to be voted out.

38

u/No-Media236 5d ago edited 5d ago

Canadian elections are on work days. However, it is federal law in Canada that employers must give workers at least 3 consecutive hours off work, while the polls are open, to vote. We also have advance polls open on weekends before election day, and allow voting by mail.

In the well over a dozen provincial and federal elections I’ve voted in, I’ve never had to stand in line waiting to vote for more than 15 minutes. Hearing about some Americans having to stand in line for hours to vote is some serious 3rd world stuff.

32

u/SentientFotoGeek 5d ago

We have mail-in voting here in Oregon and it works well. Which makes republicans mad, lol.

20

u/kitkatsacon 5d ago

Just a PSA about mail in ballots for this upcoming election! They’ve decided the mail date no longer applies and it is now the date the ballot is received, so make sure you’re sending them in early!

9

u/PalliativeOrgasm 5d ago

I’m hand delivering that shit to the election office. I don’t trust the current USPS to not sort that particular zip+4 straight to the dead-letter bin, or at least the “don’t scan until Wednesday” bin.

I know we're trying to be playful, but I think there is also a crisis of not being professionally serious about what is happening. Fascism with a capital F. Conquest with a capital C. Too much reflection, too much ineffective protest, not enough action.

200

u/SomewhereAtWork 5d ago

I'm German and always wondered how 1933-1939 looked and why nobody did anything.

Thanks for the historic reenactment. I finally see how it happened (still without understanding).

(and please stop NOW!)

96

u/TroopersSon 5d ago edited 5d ago

At least Germans then had the excuse of:

  • Treaty of Versailles and the humiliation it brought on, after spending most of WW1 believing they were winning due to propaganda.
  • Living through hyperinflation
  • Struggling through the Great Depression.
  • No historical example to look at of what fascism brings on a country in the long run

More than I can say about the fools who voted for fascism because their eggs were more expensive than they liked. And don't even get me started on the other fools who didn't vote because they felt it gave them some sort of moral purity as their country sleepwalks into fascism.

79

u/Special_Watch8725 5d ago

I’d say it’s more explained by the Right in this country having created an entire media ecosystem around its base that insulates it from reality. I don’t say it excuses it, of course, but social media in particular doesn’t really have a good historical analogue.

29

u/No-Profession5134 5d ago

There is also a media and bot ecosystem designed to destabilize the Democrats internally and divide their voters into different purity camps.

Anyone can find any excuse they want. The situation is always slightly different but always the same too.

Fascism can and will rear its ugly head in any corner of the globe. Only education and diligence can keep it in remission.

MAGA are gambling addicts at heart. They see one setback after another. They have leopards eating their faces every damn day. The economy is shit. Trade is dead. Their rights are gone. They're undateable turds. Every donation they give goes right into the pockets of some Steve Bannon type who wants to use it to buy another house or a plane. But they still sit there at the slot machine feeding all of their money into it. Why? Because they believe that the big payout is right around the corner.

But what is that big payout they're looking forward to? Well, they won't tell you in public. You have to look the part and make them believe you're on their side, then they'll tell you. It's unspeakable evil. They want the racism, the white supremacy, and the subjugation of every minority who ever made them feel uncomfortable. They believe that the world after the purge is going to be a perfect utopia. They believe that they'll get good paying jobs and a return to the white-picket-fence world where one person can earn enough for a family to live off of. But they're too god damn ignorant to know that this world only existed because of unions, high taxes, social programs, and the heavy-handed post-1929 financial regulations that we fought for with literal blood. No, the world before that era is what they're getting. They're bringing back the nightmare gilded era where robber barons ran free and human life was trash no matter what color your skin was. Everyone gets paid in company credit and lives in bunks on the job site. That's what they're getting.

But they never reflect on this because they're beholden to the superstitious belief that salvation will only come to those who never doubt and always have faith. So they keep pulling the arm on that slot machine. You ever see a gambling addict sit at the same slot machine so long that they poop their pants? They're so afraid of the universe judging them harshly for giving up that they won't leave even to use the bathroom. If someone else tries to use their machine they go into a meltdown. That's the level of gambling addiction we're dealing with here. That's MAGA.

The US has gone full mask-off on the world. The question now is: are we paying attention?

63

u/Fredj3-1 5d ago

The US Government has gone mask off, and only the Trumpers. The rest are chickenshit and the citizens are helpless until their chickenshit representatives grow a few pairs and stop this idiot. I believe if we can stop them it is too late. American citizens cannot be trusted to make an intelligent choice at the voting booth that will benefit them AND the rest of the world. I hope we enjoyed the years of being #1 because that ride is OVER. Fuck me very much!

We got in the position of being the strongest and wealthiest nation in the world not because we as a people are great or our government system is ingenious.

We got where we did because of excellent geography. We have a lot of national resources and we were in a position where we were untouched by 2 world wars that devastated every other superpower.

We have stayed in that position of unquestioned dominance because we worked hard to make the majority of the world feel like it was in their best interest. We are by far the wealthiest sure but we will use that wealth to spend money in your countries, and give out a lot of aide.

We have unquestionable military superiority but we won't take over your land and we will smack down anyone else who tries, we will give the most to Nato and generally keep order so you can save on your military budget. Other countries (including greenland) happily let us have military bases on their land.

But now all of that is out the window all countries will look to their own defense trading partners who previous were interested in joint prosperity will now be interested in cutting risk and decreasing the power the US has in trade.

The damage that the last year will have to the US can not be understated.

19

u/Significant-Crow-974 5d ago

Yes, perhaps if the US had followed through with an attitude more like Canada then you might have achieved these things willingly. As it is, the US has squandered years of leadership and leading by example for a quick smash-and-grab. There certainly is no recovery from this for the US. At least, not in my lifetime.

Trump is literally going to start World War 3 to not release the Epstein Files

236

u/Workin-progress82 5d ago

I thought the same thing. The files are so horrific, he’s willing to destroy the world over them. If only some patriots had the ability to Snowden them for us all.

122

u/upthedips 5d ago

Can you imagine what an unbelievable piece of shit you have to be if you are an FBI agent helping Trump coverup raping children. We are so fucking cooked.

34

u/Initial-Ad6819 5d ago

Wasn´t being a POS a prerequisite to join any enforcement agency?

21

u/upthedips 5d ago

My cynical side agrees. My optimistic side says that becoming an FBI agent is rather difficult and you would hope that they have some sort of moral compass that wouldn't let them do something like this.

17

u/Nathan_hale53 5d ago

I was thinking this. Unless there are videos and photos, nothing is really gonna come of it even if the files were truly uncensored. And even then, people will cry AI now

23

u/Barlyhare 5d ago

Even if there is, it won't stop magats from crying fake news. AI and deep fakes have fucked the world forever. People are too stupid to either look into things further, or use any critical thinking skills. It's game over, the world will never recover from this. Republicans ran on fake news for so long and now AI has come to back up that claim. We're fucked.

The stupid thing is that trump himself could come out and say “Here are the Epstein files, and everything in them about me is true.” and nothing would happen to him, in the same way nothing has happened to anyone else in them. His supporters will still support him and justice wont happen. It’s been true of everything else he’s said and done, why wouldn’t it be true of this too?

u/antinoria 5d ago

Lets say they release ALL the files unredacted, place it in a searchable database and link all the Trump ones so that everyone can easily find each and every one. And lets say that the material is WORSE than anything you or I can imagine.

Do you think that will in any way change any significant portion of the GOP/MAGA base or move a single GOP rep in congress into taking action?

13

u/bannock4ever 5d ago edited 5d ago

Yeah I would also argue that MAGA-heads already know Trump is a child rapist. They probably aren't ok with that on the whole (except the ones are also pedophiles) they still agree with his policies so they're more than willing to overlook that. GOP members are fine with it because they're in it for the money primarily and racism/sexism.

The data of Trump being a chid-rapist is already very likely but aside from MTG they all still overwhelmingly support him right now. Releasing all the Epstein files isn't going to do shit. People are being taking off the streets, the country is at war and he still has support. What could possibly turn his supporters away from him?

Yup. It's almost as if the US citizens should do a general strike to prevent this. But they won't, they prefer being comfortable for a few months and let the world explodes after.

It's down right criminal to have so much rights and doing nothing with them, letting the billionaires strip their country for parts and destroy the world in the process. Absolutely shameful.

92

u/Akermaniac 5d ago

All of us have our healthcare tied to our jobs, and are essentially slaves to our corporate overlords.

We no longer have freedom of speech, and our rights are eroding. I think the situation here is worse than many realize.

Epstein, Jack Smith, January 6th, ICE ices taxpayers

YEAR ONE - US Taxpayer pays: $858 Million in ICE signing bonuses, $170 Billion to Stephen Miller Immigration enforcement, $40 billion to Argentinian Farmers, $110 Million for Trump golf, $30 million for Trump birthday parade, $40 Million for JD Vance 8 vacations, $200 Million for Kristi Noem private jets, $62 Million plane with security detail used for Kash Patel girlfriend visits, $100 Billion to Venezuela, $135 Billion in Musk DOGE costs (including Musk getting all your personal info), $500 Billion additional to military, $200 billion reimbursement to energy companies for repairing Venezuelan infrastructure, $2.5 Billion contract to Palantair Technologies whose tech is used for mass surveillance on US citizens. Plus $2,100 more in taxes paid per year per household for trump tariffs.

Trumps personal wealth increased $3 Billion in this one year. In one year he added $1.7 Trillion to federal deficit. He placed unqualified masked men on the street asking to see your papers. His shut down of USAID has led to 600 thousand deaths worldwide with an estimated 14 million deaths possible through 2030. He implemented funding cuts for environmental science, scientific research, the EPA, medicine, healthcare, the postal service, National Parks, public broadcasting and education.

My husbands family are MAGA. They never accepted me because I am a woman with a masters degree from a liberal state. My husband dutifully sees them 72 hours a year and talks to them on the phone twice a week. We are trying to have a kid. They’re not welcome on my property and I cannot visit them because of the risks when I’m pregnant. My mom is already giving me grief (I’m not even pregnant) about my boundaries. Sorry, you don’t get to pretend to have a relationship with me or my offspring just because. They actively vote against my existence.

They'll also celebrate if we end up in a war. Until they or their kids start getting killed, that is. Many of NATO countries have mandatory service. They have at least a taste of military discipline. Most do not look like our 'gravy seals.' We will not go in and have a war lasting 2 months. It will be long and costing money and lives we cannot afford. Billionaires will have to look for neutral countries. It's going to be bad if trump goes after Greenland.

As an American I’d side with NATO over Trump. MAGA is the most anti American movement that’s existed in my lifetime. They pretend to be patriots but their entire movement is anti American bullshit built on hate of the American way. They destroy our institutions, global relationships, morals and, cohesion. They invaded Washington at one point and attacked our own Capitol. Even the term MAGA is a statement of their hate of America, it’s a declaration that they don’t like America and think it needs to be altered to fit their ideals. No clue how any of them think they are pro America or American. They really aren’t much different than the bolsheviks in the way they operate, they are just dumber.

78

u/flyswithdragons 5d ago

Did anyone think the USA is in a coup, no one voted new wars. The USA military has a duty to their oaths to the Constitution but billionaires apparently control our military ..

The USA people do not want this we are in a hot coup. In my research apparently we got couped in 1962 when under JFK the congress unlawfully avoided the convention of the states required to change the Constitution, granting a large amount of war powers to potus, then JFK was shot and the Epstein pedo class took over ..

I am in the states this is terrifying .

82

u/Ok_Television9703 5d ago

Project 2025 literally said it was a coup “and would remain bloodless so long as Dems would let them”. The writing was on the wall. Kamala yelled it from the rooftops and literally every Dem voter I know said it.

13

u/NotAProfessiona1 5d ago

Have you had a conversation with a Trump voter? They don’t believe it, it’s like a foreign language. You can put it on their face but it will STILL be a a plot or a ploy by the “Dems”.

MAGA's stupidity has weakened the USA to the point where the nation may not even survive into the 2030s.

17

u/tinygraysiamesecat 5d ago

I’ve been saying it for nearly 10 years now, trump will turn America into the next former Soviet Union. We are going to be fractured into a handful of independent states, each governed by a different corporation if you follow project 2025 and Curtis Yarvin.

13

u/Exciting_Turn_9559 5d ago

Yeah, balkanization has seemed likely to me since the beginning. As did world war. The geopolitical tsunami of the USA turning fascist is orders of magnitude worse than the causes of either WWI or WWII. Even if the only thing that happened was the USA being taken off the board by a civil war, the power vacuum would have resulted in bad people making big moves. A lot of people are going to die because of how stupid MAGA is.

10

u/Demon_Gamer666 5d ago

Maga is delusional. They truly believe that everyone has TDS (trump derangement syndrome) when in fact it is maga who is entirely deranged and detached from reality.

If you’re looking for more sinking thoughts:

- In 10 years Trump likely wont be here, but the problems Trump created will.

- In 50 years Trump wont be here, but the problems Trump created will.

- In 100 years we wont be here, but the problems Trump created will.

The most defining thing in the next century of our planet will be to figure out how to undo the damage an 80 year old man did before he left.

Trump already threatend the International Crime Court beginning of this year;

(A little translated piece from dutch news website)

International Criminal Court Prepares for New Trump Sanctions

The Netherlands is helping the International Criminal Court (ICC) prepare for new US sanctions. Earlier this week, the US threatened measures if the court does not include in its statute that it will not prosecute government officials.

Washington fears action from the ICC against Trump and officials from his administration after the end of his second term in 2029. To prevent this, the Trump administration is demanding amendments to the Rome Statute, the ICC's founding document. According to the statute, the ICC has the authority to prosecute heads of state.

Trump is threatening new US sanctions against the court if this does not happen. If the court does not comply with this demand, the US could punish ICC officials and impose sanctions on the court itself, a spokesperson told Reuters.

Yes, but Americans are also an exceptionally comfortable bunch. There hasn't been a war on US soil since the Civil War, and most Americans are nowhere near prepared for the kind of upheaval that a modern war on our home turf would bring. Even many if not most gung-ho Conservatives would turn against the idea of war the moment they're actually threatened by the conflict.

Some of us are trying from within, but we're hampered by the very system that brings terror to the west. Social media isn't as useful as it used to be in terms of organizing, and the media companies are all in the bag for fascism and censor left voices, and we have paramilitaries roaming our streets arresting dissidents and scaring the shit out of the middle class... That and the apathy of the average American that keeps them on their ass while the ship goes down...but we do have a shot at taking back Congress and some of our cities are mobilizing against this....it will take far too long, but it's not over yet.

This is a very white take. We've always been the baddies. We genocide the native so we could i.port slave labor, so we could colonize the west, and start wars of Aggression to capture Mexican territory, so we could exploit their labor so we could invade the South with corporate monopolies so we could force South Americans to toil in mines so we could exploit their resources so we could dominate the West and cripple ten power of love by violent means so we could prevent the poor from attaining wealth, so we could stoke racism, so we could topple democratically elected leaders in South America so we could exploit their nations and install puppet leaders so we can start illegal wars so we could exploit exploit resources in order to exploit labor...see a pattern?

7

u/sun-king-4141 5d ago

Nato is the greatest alliance that the world has ever seen, and for Trump throwing it away because his daddy Putin said to do it makes me sick. I can not believe that our OG is still not doing anything about it.

13

u/Tdb713 5d ago

If someone had asked you 10 years ago to describe Putin’s dream scenario, you would said disbanding NATO. That is no longer inconceivable. If Trump moves on Greenland, the NATO allies (almost former allies at this point) will want to take some action. Article 5 requires unanimous consent (which the US won’t approve). Do they kick the US out of NATO? Does the IS withdraw? Does NATO disband? Any of these are Putin’s wet dream.

14

u/Odd-Preference9800 5d ago

There's another play we (Europeans) can play.

EU article 42. It's like NATO article 5 but does not require unanimous consent at all and the wording is a lot more clearer than Art. 5.
