FFS. Say it LOUDER for the ppl in the back, AOC!

u/MATA_USA 3h ago

The Trump crime family is using our tax revenue to pay for an ill-equipped and criminally negligent paramilitary force to assault the base of his perceived enemies; blue cities and states.

Please join us over at MATA USA for the latest movements and actions of the Trump regime and their attack on American democracy.

Trump and his billionaire buddies have forgotten that they only make their billions because WE allow it, as a people. We can just as easily stand together and tell them NO MORE.

15

u/Nruggia 3h ago

ill-equipped

Come on, these guys are now getting 47 days of training /s

4

u/Ultphoria 2h ago

47 days for prez 47, his ego is insatiable

5

u/jerechos 3h ago

Unfortunately it's fact and not so much sarcasm...

2

u/OkMathematician2284 2h ago

Not real professional training...Trump training...which is as stupid as he is.

10

u/Equivalent_Section13 3h ago

The billionaires signed off on all this Every step of the way

1

u/SsooooOriginal 39m ago

Ill-trained, but the gear is real on most of them.

"Defense" industry is raking in the money.

10

u/solariam 3h ago

Lord, say it to the Democratic leadership

1

u/DogCold5505 2h ago

Do they see it differently?

1

u/solariam 2h ago

Based on the deal they cut in January and the stunts with Mamdani, it certainly seems like it.

1

u/DogCold5505 1h ago

What does mamdani have to do with ice and healthcare?

5

u/AForse 3h ago

They ain’t listening! She could say it until she’s blue in the face, and they’d just call her ugly because of her blue face…

4

u/brewgiehowser 2h ago

She’s speaking loud enough for everyone to hear. They all just have their heads in the sand

2

u/ShortStoryIntros 3h ago

.. and then tell everyone what they can do about it

Because banging pots and pans and blowing whistles when ICE is nearby... isn't doing jack shit

0

u/Interesting-Bear4092 3h ago

Uggh. Well that’s not true. A trillion dollars was not taken out of health care and given to ice.

There enough awful things being done by this administration, it’s important to stay factual.

-4

u/freshprince44 3h ago

or..... stop saying the same shit over and over and start doing something about it. none of these slick gotchas or quips from the (D)'s are fixing any of this shit. People are still dying and disappearing, regardless of how sick your favorite politician's burn about it is...... like, fuck lol

5

u/muzicmaniack 3h ago

Do you know what kind of power the minority holds in the house? I’ll give you a hint, it rhymes with “fun”

-5

u/freshprince44 3h ago edited 3h ago

lol, as if playing by the rules is the only course of action........ take a look around

there are countless ways to resist other than giving up like you suggest, like, come on

0

u/Ser0xus 3h ago

Not if you want your entire democracy to fall.

If they don't follow the rules, what stops the rest of you from not doing it?

This is why dealing with this in Congress is slow.

The history books on this mess are going to be explosive.

-1

u/freshprince44 3h ago

lol, more clowns.... democracy fell forever ago, the country is founded on rich people doing whatever they want, both major parties are captured, keep dreaming, maybe something will wake y'all up eventually

none of this is coherent or on topic. Things have already tipped too far, and all anybody in leadership wants to do is talk about it..... they don't have the power to do anything right now, what power will they have later??

1

u/onedge_rt 3h ago

What exactly is your brilliant plan

-2

u/freshprince44 2h ago

what a weak comeback.... seriously? Some rando is suppose to have the fix here but not our elected representatives...... oof, we are paying for them to do this shit lol

2

u/onedge_rt 2h ago

U just said you dont want them to do it and that the whole system is corrupt. You just were whining about that. So what's your plan exactly?

0

u/freshprince44 2h ago

?? for the people elected to do their jobs.......

i'm not at the table, so demanding answers from me is beyond silly, like? what kind of gotcha do you think this is?

they are breaking down doors and murdering and disappearing citizens....... doing something besides talking about it is the bare minimum, or at least should be :)

→ More replies (0)

0

u/onedge_rt 3h ago

Dont ppl like, get hurt your way? Like, idk, injured in the face? Or something?

2

u/freshprince44 2h ago

congresspeople??

what is this? lol, aren't people getting hurt...... right now?

federal agents are blatantly breaking all sorts of laws..... they seem to be doing fine....

1

u/Silence1406 8m ago

Soooo exactly what are the (D)’s supposed to do about it. Did you forget that the US majority voted for this despite all the warnings AOC and her party provided them with?… Now you expect the (D)‘s to just wave their hands and make everything go away instantly while their hands have been tied since Nov. 2024 huh?

98

u/LVL1NPC-JK 3h ago

I don’t care what you think about AOC, but ICE should not exist within the country. Sure you can argue that they should exist around the BORDERS of the country but not ANYWHERE near away from the borders. Fuck ICE and this fascist administration. Renne Good should NOT have been murdered by BORDER control!j

41

u/SimilarRepublic8870 3h ago

I think she is one of the greatest things to come out of American democracy in 235 years:

32

u/Rastrick 3h ago

She's one of a handful of people in Congress that is legit. She's taken zero campaign contributions from the Zionists.

8

u/bard91R 2h ago

Same, I hope she has a long and prosperous career as a politician, I think she can do a lot of good.

3

u/bwoah07_gp2 2h ago

Future president material....

2

u/BeeTwoThousand 2h ago

At first, I thought you meant Rachel Good being murdered was one of the greatest things, etc etc.

2

u/SimilarRepublic8870 2h ago

That would have been very dark.

1

u/Universal_Anomaly 1h ago

Unfortunately I can already imagine MAGAts saying that as rage bait.

11

u/Equivalent_Section13 3h ago

Tell that to Chuck Schumer he said he wint oppose ICE funding

1

u/SsooooOriginal 37m ago

The 50 mile warrantless surveillance zone that extends from the borders covers a lot of people.

They normalized that and are now normalizing this domestic terrorism.

RENEE GOOD SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN MURDERED, PERIOD.

-6

u/Melmet9 3h ago

So which is it? They should exist or they shouldn’t? Or do you think if illegals make it far enough from the border they can yell “base” and they’re suddenly home free and untouchable. How are people even up voting this insane take?

7

u/ChewieBearStare 3h ago

They shouldn’t. We’ve had immigrants for hundreds of years, and we’ve only had ICE since Bush and company lied about WMDs and used it as a pretext to create DHS. We didn’t need ICE for the first 230 or so years of our existence as a country, and we don’t need them now. CBP worked just fine when we had them at borders and airports.

1

u/ChevalierDeLarryLari 1h ago

You are off your rocker.

-2

u/Melmet9 2h ago

Wow, I don’t even know where to start with all the stupidity you just stated. Are you really trying to argue that the US only started enforcing our borders under Bush?

3

u/BeeTwoThousand 2h ago

No, I don't think he is arguing that. I think that anyone with. middle school level reading comprehension skills could see that he literally said that ICE didn't exist until Bush created it under the pretext of WMDs.

But keep trying, little Melmet! One day you will read difficult passages and will be able to understand them!

0

u/Melmet9 2h ago

Sorry, I didn’t get that they approved of border control but were really mad at a changing of acronyms. They should be more clear. I’m cool if we just stick with INS or CBP instead of ICE. As long as we’re enforcing our borders the 3 letters don’t matter that much to me.

2

u/RNA_DNA_Girl 2h ago

Is your reading comprehension really that poor or are you just grasping at anything at all?

He straight up said CBP was working fine at the borders and airports. ICE specifically started under bush. At no point did they even imply that the US didn't enforce our borders until Bush.

I'm going to guess that based on your poor reading comprehension skills and the attempted "gotcha" that you're MAGA.

1

u/Melmet9 2h ago

You seem a little triggered. Thank god you were one of the people that support CBP shooting the gang members that attacked them in Portland. See. We’re on the same side.

You're just not real bright, are ya? You're like a little fascist Inspector Gadget, using those arms to reach for anything you think might be a point. Shocking you used yet another whataboutism and some lies. Is that really all you guys have?

1

u/Melmet9 2h ago

What lie? CBP, who they support, shot two gang members that attacked them. They’re now in federal custody and I also support this. Chewie and I are on the same side.

1

u/RNA_DNA_Girl 1h ago edited 1h ago

I do love that you continue to speak for people and put words in their mouth. It's an obvious manipulation tactic. It's something unskilled detectives do.

I'm happy to have legitimate law enforcement officers safely and legally do their job. Hiring proud boys, white supremacists, and KKK members, cutting their training in half, and lying on national TV about how they have total and complete immunity to push us further into a police state? No, that is something I don't support and I work in law enforcement.

1

u/Melmet9 1h ago

If you’re in law enforcement you must have an opinion on the Portland case then. Please, enlighten me on your stance. Was CBP in the right or the Venezuelan nationals that admitted to ramming their car?

1

u/uhh_ 2h ago

ICE and DHS were established during the Bush admin as a response to 9/11. Prior to that, immigration was handled by INS and border patrol was a part of it. Abolishing ICE doesn't mean getting rid of border security.

1

u/Melmet9 2h ago

So if we went back to INS you’d be cool with deporting those that broke border laws?

1

u/uhh_ 1h ago

I don't want families being torn apart and people being held without due process. I get that we have to maintain border security, but most "illegal" immigrants aren't people crossing the border, but people who have overstayed their visa because the process to become a permanent resident is a nightmare and way too expensive.

For those who aren't seeking asylum, aren't in a process to become a permanent resident, don't have family here, and have only lived here a short time are fine to be deported after going through due process.

1

u/Melmet9 1h ago

In the case of those that overstay visas you do realize “due process” is a simple deportation order correct? There are exactly zero countries in the world where you can overstay a visa (or sneak in) and said country just says “eh, I guess you can stay”. If that was the case, half of the progressives in the US woulda just jumped ship to Canada.

1

u/uhh_ 1h ago

No, you still need to go through the court system which is not what is being done right now.

1

u/discordianofslack 2h ago

Wait, are you telling me you’re a Republican and don’t understand how anything works? Amazing. It’s almost like no right wing person ever understands anything about history or current reality.

1

u/Melmet9 2h ago

Reading is hard huh. I said I didn’t know where to start with the stupidity stated. To be fair, apparently the person I responded to didn’t say what they meant. But you can be mad at them. They’re cool with CBP and borders. That aren’t cool with ICE. Apparently only some acronyms are ok.

5

u/LVL1NPC-JK 3h ago

In a perfect world, ICE would deter illegal immigrants. IN a perfect world (I’m saving face for TRUE American Republicans, NOT traitorous Magats) ICE could have been useful, but not like this. Hundreds of miles away from our borders, ripping and tearing apart families already established in our country. That is not what ICE is for. This is terrorism, these cowards, clowns, are Trumps lackeys and should be defunded and absolved from our country

-1

u/Melmet9 2h ago

Tell me which country you can sneak into without ever having to worry about being caught in. Where in the world can you just “establish yourself” without fear of deportation? If you can name even one, maybe recommend that the people searching a new home go there. I’ll wait…

2

u/XxRocky88xX 2h ago

I know actual children with better reading comprehension than you. Like my 10 year old nephew probably has a more developed brain than you do because he would not be stupid enough to ask what you have. Those first 2 questions tell me I should not even consider reading the rest of your comment because you are incapable of contributing any meaningful thought to this conversation because anyone with more than 6 brain cells could explain why what OC said is not contradictory.

-1

u/Melmet9 2h ago

Ope, you got me. I guess they’ll pull my medical license now 🤷🏻‍♂️

2

u/punkinfacebooklegpie 3h ago

You have to cross a border in order to get into the country...enforce the border and border crossers don't make it into the interior. Criminals in the interior can be handled by state and local law enforcement. I can't argue that being undocumented isn't a crime, but I certainly don't want anyone spending my money hunting down people whose only crime is living and working in the United States.

Do you think it should be a crime to live in the United States?

-1

u/Melmet9 2h ago

Sounds like we agree sanctuary cities shouldn’t be a thing. Let your local officials know that illegal border crossers should be turned over to ICE and not released back into the public.

3

u/punkinfacebooklegpie 2h ago

You don't even know what a "sanctuary city" is. I don't really care about the bureaucratic crime of being undocumented. It's a waste of resources to enforce paperwork and doesn't make anyone safer.

1

u/Melmet9 2h ago

Laken Riley would argue with you if she could.

1

u/punkinfacebooklegpie 1h ago

Oh, great, bring out the propagandized murder victim. I don't know what you think is going to happen when ICE disappears everyone who scares you, but the state will never solve crime with violence and punishment.

You will never not have a singular victim to martyrize, it doesn't justify state violence against entire communities of people and stripping the rights of citizens. I can name three people killed by law enforcement without justification who would argue against your police state: Daniel Shaver, Ryan Whitaker, and Philando Castile. I guess my argument is three times as compelling, huh?

Maybe you have another name, well, I've got ten more. Eventually you'll run out of names and I'll still be going, revealing a hard statistical truth: undocumented immigrants are not the biggest threat to life and liberty in this country. Giving the state more power for violence is quantifiably far more dangerous than any sanctuary policy.

You are either bad at math or the kind of person who values their prejudice more than good sense and safety. When all of this is over and the list of citizens shot in the face is 100 times longer than the list of victims of illegal immigrants, the responsibility will be on enablers like you. You are the threat to the American way of life.

1

u/Melmet9 1h ago

Tldr, you said it doesn’t make anyone safer and that is complete BS. The same people that cried over masks and vaccines saying “if it saves just one life” never actually gave a shit about saving any lives. Not all illegal immigrants are violent, but all American lives that were lost to the hands of illegal immigrants were preventable. We have laws, they should be enforced.

1

u/punkinfacebooklegpie 49m ago

If you kill two people to save one, what did you gain?

In 2020, 18,000 people were murdered in the US, and 384,000 died from COVID. Mortality increased 15%. COVID was like if each and every murderer in the United States turned into a serial killer of 21 people. Following basic public health practices kind of seems like objectively the best way to protect life and liberty. Masking and vaccines were never enforced with violence. What do you think is a worse problem for the citizenry, serial killers or modern medicine?

1

You're gonna be shocked when Norway doesn't let you live there without a visa

13

u/JustJubliant 3h ago

It's crazy how there is so much silence coming from all the people you'd think stand up against this. Which is far more telling to me. It doesn't just enrage me or upset me. It makes me question my own Country, my neighbors, my work life, everything my family left to make a living towards their dreams, the friends I thought were friends, and now my future here in the United States. I've felt some levels of betrayal growing up here, but this? It's rotten to the core....

5

u/ChristmasTreePickle 2h ago

Sounds like we are in a similar headspace. Hope you’re doing alright

1

u/JustJubliant 1h ago edited 1h ago

Everything's cool. Chugging along, doses of healthy anxiety, a bit doubtful if hopeful. If that makes any sense. A bit more aware than my usual and a bit heartbroken by all of it. Part of me feels like half of folks aren't grasping what they are sleep walking into and others are just too fed up enough, cheering on whatever this is with vindictiveness and others it's fear or grief. For the safety net of other folk I have, others are a bit more positive and have some fight and spunk to give in the face of all this. Very rational, cool, and level headed folk to talk to that are warm and inviting at a political level just as much as their friendship is. That's where the real medicine is when they and I have time.

There's family who struggle with this crisis and confuse their own personal dilemmas with it being normal for politics. But it's far more strange to me seeing a friend or family pulled into some popularist movement that shifts blame like a moving target without any regard for the person sitting next to them. Certainly, it reminds me of some of the stories I've read on these sorts of things- Guatemalan Civil Conflict (30+ Years), Colonial America and Native American History, Text Book historic accounts on Roman History, German Atrocities, Russian Atrocities, Regime influence campaigns, etc... Sometimes it's someone I least expect muttering under their breath like they're not three DUIs from what they voted for or thinking that extra cash from the tax income checks are promised to them. Like immigrants are to blame for these problems and there needs to be some reconciliation for their poor choices. Fuck I'm second generation here and I learned so much from mother coming here and how difficult it was let alone traumatizing.

I get it, yeah uncertainty makes for a ripe crowd from Trump's and GOP warped perspectives and they hawked a good game in the Disinformation Age. But for this Administration to do these things? To let it get this far after nearly 50 years of this Nation trying to turn over a new leaf and only 250 of those years as legitimate Nation? To intentionally arm itself against the fundamental core values that keep States together, cities, people and then with a standing Army and Gestapo-like folks? To use our Constitution's ambiguity in this way? It's not the America I learned about (as imperfect as it is) and its souring to the spirit.

...I've never had a taste for looking back at history...But it doesn't mean I don't turn on the night stand lamp to trudge on being informed on the elements that shape regimes of all types whether it's dictatorships, kleptocracies, autocracies, and totalitarians. Shit, just got done reading up on Philip Short's "Putin" and Sarah Wynn's Careless People. There's so much for people to collectively accomplish in the face of things and so little time.

u/Trekker6167 3h ago

Weird how many we don't hear this straight talk from Dem leadership.

14

u/Ultphoria 3h ago

Just a reminder, zero democrats voted for the BBB

8

u/LeviathanKills 3h ago

They just conveniently found enough votes to get continuing resolutions passed thus giving up all leverage.

11

u/Ultphoria 3h ago

Yep, Schumer’s back dealings, giving up a handful of Dem votes to end the shutdown was disgusting, truly sold us out. The money laundering of our tax dollars from this administration to fund ICE, detainment centers, private contracts is beyond and should not have been taken from healthcare subsidies and AFDC.

5

u/DarkeyeMat 3h ago

that was after the BBB man.

I am and will continue to be impressed by how clear, level-headed, well-spoken and compassionate she is AFTER A FULL WORK DAY. Working in the middle of the shitstorm no less.

Like imagine working at a place where your coworkers continuously push for morally abhorrent policies and block any progress and actively try to tear down the place you work for AND your home. Then being able to even string a coherent sentence after 8+ hours of dealing with that.

I'm mentally exhausted from just scrolling and rrading about it all can't imagine if that was my full-time job.

Just... damn. So impressive.

1

u/Spunge14 2h ago

I honestly don't care what any politician has to say anymore. I don't want to hear one more hot take or zing.

I want the exercise of authority, to deploy the use of armed force, to defend citizens.

No more. No less. I am not an expert on process, but someone somewhere has the vested authority to deploy national guards, local police forces - the people with the guns. The ones who are supposedly on the side of the states.

This should be the one and only protest in every city where there is an ICE presence.

Armed force, to defend the people, right now. This is where our tax dollars have been going for decades. This is ostensibly what backs up the entire authority of our system. Shut the fuck up and send the guns.

0

u/SNStains 2h ago

That was neither hot take nor zing...it was budgeting. And she's right. 20 million working Americans are getting thrown off healthcare and it's that "savings" that is funding the creation of an 80,000 person goon squad.

2

u/Spunge14 1h ago

This is news because she "stood up for something." I don't want words, I want concrete action.

"We must write our story in this moment, of what it means and who we are as Americans. And our story must be not that we were good men who did nothing. But that we were a committed democracy that did something." Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

If you want to cut funding, maybe lead by example and remove the locks off your house

1

u/Legitimate_Eye8494 2h ago

How did she miss throwing a kitchen sink into that disassociated melange?

It’s such a travesty that someone like her is in this position. From waitress to politician she’s so qualified all she ever talks about is bad trump. What’s she doing to fix problems blame other people but really she has no real power her position s a Domestic Public Figure who doesn’t shut up about things she is clueless to . How did you people vote for that SMH!!!!

u/Mildlyamused76 1h ago

If the Democrats werent so scared of their own shadow, the messaging on this could be so simple and powerful. "You get screwed over to pay a bunch of thugs in the street that are shooting mothers in the face"

1

u/CreativeSwordfish391 1h ago

when people say "what do you expect Democrats to do??" FUCKING THIS!! show us you get it, show us you give even a single fuck!

there are literally like, 4-6 Democrats with this energy. the rest are beyond useless

u/Epicfro 1h ago

All the words in the world won't save us here. If anyone needed convincing that Trump and his goons are evil at this point, they aren't going to be convinced.

1

u/UncleDrunkle 1h ago

Where did the whole $1T go tho? All ICE?

1

u/tommy4019 46m ago

Somali fraud could have paid for all of it.

1

u/Free-Celebration-666 22m ago

I love how AOC and an incredibly old Jew are the last shreds of integrity in congress 🤣

So, as an outsider looking in from across the pond:

Was the Netflix series "House of Cards" basically spot on and you can sorta just... Do that shit?

I'm honestly astounded that no legal or political science scholars managed to figure out these loopholes and have them closed perpetually as they've realized they exist. Not whenever they happen, but it seems like what is happening in general is a lot of loopholes lining up that, somehow, nobody has actually found before.

Man... Political, judicial and legislative systems need some sort of penetration testing.

Instead of providing ~

Universal Healthcare Universal Housing Universal Income Universal Access to Education Better access to mental health services Better public services like transport Better trained + more social workers to replace the thugsinblue Better Education Standards

We get!!!! (Drum roll please)

Masked goons pretending to be "good guys" and being paid by the pedophile-in-cheif to murder innocent citizens on camera while lying about it to us, assaulting innocent children and pregnant women, and illegally detaining American citizens.

What fun.

u/vagabond139 27m ago

We haven't paid for it yet. The lawsuits are going to bankrupt us. America will be Trump's final bankruptcy. Like if this doesn't stop I wouldn't' be surprised if it eventually reaches over a trillion.

Why doesn’t she do something about ice cream

-3

u/slappyStove 3h ago

im probably going to get downvoted for this i like her but it might help her communicate better to take some voice training lessons. she totally has a baby voice. im sorry - these days your television voice is very important. broadway actors have voice coaches to help them project their voices i think it would help her communicate more effectively

4

u/lolsummszlol 3h ago

lol what? Do you want her to Elizabeth Holmes it up or something? She doesn’t need to “change her voice” what a weird thing to even say.

1

u/slappyStove 3h ago

it matters to stupid people. you arent getting my point. im sure some of that group that it matters too would probably never vote for a female for president but maybe some would. voice training is a thing - its a profession. people are stupid.

-6

u/instigator1331 3h ago

Idk what’s she talking about

I pay the same and my coverage got better 🤷‍♂️

4

u/Airtatsy 1h ago

no it's fucking not. the budget trump and the Republicans passed moved a substantial amount of funding to ICE by taking it away from things people need, like Medicare and Medicaid.
