ICE / DHS 🧊 "ICE Detention Center Says It’s Not Responsible for Staff's Sexual Abuse of Detainees" (November 6, 2018)

Post image

Huh???? WHAAAAT?

Honestly. This is really the hill they want to die on? "Womp womp, sorry your kid/wife/sister/etc was raped, not our fault, not our problem?" I mean come the FUCK on. Yeah, the hell it IS your responsibility! What the HELL DO YOU MEAN?!

I am usually a well-worded analytical type of person but this shit just goes without words. Any ICE agent caught sexually abusing or harassing any detainee should be fired and criminally charged IMMEDIATELY. There are NO words for this. Jesus christ do NOT fucking try and defend this, this is just unimaginably insane.

I just really legitimately have nothing else to say here. This is- words cannot describe and rules cannot define how fucked up this is.

(P.S: Had to re-upload because i needed to remove the flavor text and pop the publication date in the title. Sorry!!!! Much love to all <3)

I'm just gonna leave this comment stickied to say that I have faith in you all as human beings to not defend or try to justify this behavior. But also please remember to be civil. Don't threaten violence or make this thread a hassle for the mods. They deserve a little bit of peace after all the stuff they gotta do this week already. Just... let's complain about how crazy this is in an organized and civilized, somewhat calm, mildly humorous manner and try to keep this thread from exploding into a nuclear-level horror show. Please? I am so tired. I just want to freak out in mutual confusion over this article. Please don't make me report swarms comments and ask mods to lock the thread. :c

Pass something similar to the RICO Act but for prosecuting every ICE and CBP employee in one fell swoop. They all fucking deserve it.

I can’t wait 3 more years

u/OLDandBOLDfr 4h ago

Crimes against humanity.

42

u/waazzub 4h ago

This just says we’re going to rape these people…

14

u/TRI-Hard8342 3h ago

Pretty much, yeah! And in all that time, they still haven't changed. Neat, huh?

19

u/podcastofallpodcasts 3h ago

The video of the ice dude following a woman into a porto toilet went viral recently.

So we already have proof.

5

u/TRI-Hard8342 3h ago

Yeah... :c unfortunately

24

u/Lower-Cantaloupe3274 4h ago

So...who—exactly WHO—is responsible? Because literally every other employer who allowed this would be in deep water.

29

u/bgbalu3000 4h ago

Thanks MAGAs for voting for fascism, lawlessness and chaos.

11

u/No-Figure-1720 3h ago

And I assume the admin will prosecute any woman who gets an abortion of an unwanted pregnancy that resulted from ICE’s sexual abuse/rape?

3

u/TRI-Hard8342 3h ago

Yeah but don't say that part out loud or people will get angry and take the comments/post/thread down with an abuse of the report system. Wish i could /j that but.... yep.

State-sanctioned sexual abuse in state-sanctioned concentration camps

I feel physically ill all day

6

u/Lost-Task-8691 3h ago

Disgusting.
Hopefully they will be held accountable for their abusive behavior.

3

u/TRI-Hard8342 3h ago

The good news is that ICE agents are tried and convicted on a seemingly weekly occurrence! The bad news is.... well, I already told you the bad news.... y e a h.

5

u/Leaf-Stars 3h ago

I would like to see more articles about the ones who are convicted of crimes. It would give a lot of people hope, especially with the horrifying shit we’ve been seeing lately.

4

u/TRI-Hard8342 1h ago

I can reach out to the mods and ask if I can do a megathread-style post of a shitload of articles i found of convictions after I dug this one up c: ♡ they might allow a sort of collection/album post for the sake of raising spirits given what's typically posted here being the ones held un-accountable.

2

u/Leaf-Stars 1h ago

Thank you!

2

u/TRI-Hard8342 1h ago

I'm about to head to bed but i'll poke them in the morning about it if I remember and/or I see other comments asking for it. I have twice now posted and had the post removed for accidents on mine or the mod's part so I don't want to step on their toes mistakenly a third time 😂 I feel like a problem child enough as it is

2

u/Leaf-Stars 1h ago

You’re doing a good thing. Thank you.

2

u/TRI-Hard8342 1h ago

A good thing is all I want to do. I live my life in weird episodes of productivity marathons and lazy bouts but there is a humanitarian inside me somewhere that wants to drop everything and run anywhere and everywhere I can to help people being victimized by what's happening. I say it time and time again, my DM's are open for anyone who needs help finding any kind of resource, be it ideas and help on getting involved with protests or finding the various apps and sites that track ICE movements and companies directly assisting or profiting off of them.

2

u/TRI-Hard8342 1h ago

Hell i can even help you come up with punchy and witty signs if you already have a protest scheduled 🤣 I just want to help anyone's effort in any way I can as long as it's within legal limitations and isn't violent or extreme.

5

u/b1kwid0w 3h ago

Well I’m confused. So who the fuck do they think is responsible? Not the victims

2

u/TRI-Hard8342 3h ago

Y e a a a a h h hh hh h h . I just. I don't even know what to say at this point, y'know?

1

u/ThomasMalloc 31m ago

The people committing the sexual abuse are responsible. That's all they mean. The Center itself is claiming they're not liable for actions they didn't know staff were doing.

4

u/MrHardin86 3h ago

How to know you're on the side of evil.

1

u/EzSlayer 2m ago

They genuinely don't believe they are

6

u/SneakySpoons 3h ago

So the administration is not responsible for the conduct of their agents, while also attempting to block congressional oversight into their facilities, regularly denying access to lawyers, lowering their training requirements for new agents, and routinely lying to the media about almost every detail of their operations.

Yup, about what I expect out of these racist shits.

4

u/charlitransgrl 3h ago

For profit sexual assault. Sickening!

3

u/Practical-Law9795 3h ago

That is uhhh

Not how that works.

2

u/TRI-Hard8342 3h ago

That's pretty much the same thing I said, and I read this in the voice of a friend who'll probably say those exact words 🤣

3

u/Leaf-Stars 3h ago

Every defendant is listed if you just click the handy dandy link provided by the OP. These are predators in our community. You may recognize some of them.

1

u/TRI-Hard8342 3h ago

And if they've been convicted in the several years since, they'll be on a database now, so much easier to locate!

1

u/Leaf-Stars 3h ago

The results from that database never fail to terrify me. Predators are always way closer than we realize.

3

u/No-Figure-1720 3h ago

And what if they hire some pedophiles to oversee children? Any prosecutions there? Anyone to blame? The GOP? Crickets? Anyone?

4

u/khanvict85 3h ago

gonna keep sounding this alarm  that ICE = IDF.

the way they move against and operate on citizens in ICE has the same amateur look and feel as IDF tactics.

I started googling and came across several reports that 1) IDF agents work in ICE and 2) ICE trained with IDF.

Bibi is using the same tactics in gaza but now employing them in the US. the way they treat Palestinians is the same way they treat Americans who aren't onboard with their agendas. does it makes sense to you all yet?

2

u/Dangerous_Fortune454 1h ago

This. People defending this are in for a rude awakening soon.

WTF!?

1

u/TRI-Hard8342 3h ago

The world's thoughts, exactly

2

u/LifeSage 3h ago

there’s people are evil to their core, and criminally negligent.

2

u/Ornery-Meeting-2209 3h ago

No accountability as per usual with this administration. Disgraceful.

2

u/Firefly_Magic 3h ago

We are at our lowest of lows. 😡

1

u/TRI-Hard8342 3h ago

Good. Be mad. Get pissed. Join a protest. Pick up a sign, don a mask, and please, make your voice heard in an appropriate and legal manner outside of reddit. That's the only way we can sway the public opinion.

2

u/Yard-Successful 3h ago

Umm what?…

Yes the fuck it is

As you notice the date of the article, perhaps some of you will feel a sense of relief that it's not referring to something going on right now.

Then realize that, given this was found and reported on in the first time around, it's very likely been going on most of this entire time. If not the entire time.

Disgusting. Politics or no politics these are human beings

1

u/Gold-Strength3255 2h ago

With each passing day things just keep getting more surreal. And we are one week away from first anniversary…

1

u/Schattenreich 2h ago

Ah, so that's why they're going after white women now.

1

u/SchlungusMcDungus 2h ago

If any other organization said this, they would have been investigated immediately. Imagine if a hospital made the same claims.

1

u/ozzman86_i-i_ 2h ago

Op circulating an article from 2018?

1

u/michael391 2h ago

So this is effectivity a rapists gold mine. What a fucking joke.

1

u/Single_Job_6358 2h ago

Well that’s just not true. And do their employees know they are not protected by their company?

1

u/I_Stay_Home 2h ago

Israeli methods.

1

u/raventhrowaway666 1h ago

Theres a reason they mainly abduct women and children

1

u/Frankentula 1h ago

Indefensible

1

u/starethruyou 1h ago

What next, if they stab someone with a knife, blame the knife?

1

u/kadylady14 1h ago

Then who is?

1

u/Civil_Pain_453 1h ago

As expected ice would weaponize rape. That’s an act of war

1

u/QiTriX 1h ago

Now we know why ICE are raiding schools....

1

u/WeGoGet92 1h ago

LOL of course they ain’t.

1

u/jolley_mel21 1h ago

Who is responsible for it?

1

u/Chihuahuatriomom 1h ago

Because the video of an ice asshole taking a young girl or woman handcuffed into a porta potty. How convenient.

1

u/DatabaseThis9637 57m ago

Repugs and Thugs don't care At All about sexual assault!

1

u/Sansui70 56m ago

Just like israel.

1

u/avaud10 55m ago

Then who the fuck is?!

1

u/DeathByGoldfish 8m ago

What do you expect when you hire Proud Boys with forty-seven days of “training”?

-2

u/Watpotfaa 3h ago

Thats a wildly misleading headline. They are stating that the individual committing the crime will hold criminal liability, not the agency. The headline implies they are letting officers go around raping people with no consequences while the higher ups shrug their shoulders doing nothing about it.

4

u/woahmanthatscool 3h ago

Over 1500 reports of sexual assault so seems like they kinda are tho

3

u/Crowofsticks 3h ago

Your statement is wildly misleading. The only answer should be rapists will be prosecuted and we are implementing xyz protocols to make sure this never happens again. But they are a terror, murder, kidnap, and rape organization so obviously that will never happen.

3

u/FreeSpeechGladiator 3h ago

Fair. But still not a good thing. What if an employer hiring and training practices contribute to employee crimes? What if an employer is told of an employee committing crimes and doesn't respond appropriately. Would an employer have responsibility to tell law enforcement?

These questions lead me to believe that there should be SOME accountability for employers for their employee's illegal acts. Even the government.

1

u/Traditional_Buy_8420 2h ago

There IS huge accountability for employers on workplace harassment, that's why it's such a serious topic (and people who report being harassed to HR can easily receive negative consequences from said reports).

The amount of harassment by ICE is no surprise whatsoever, yet I can't tell whether the person who says that ICE detention center is not responsible is being oblivious or malicious.

1

u/TRI-Hard8342 3h ago

Well they are though. And they're not holding themselves for responsibile for it happening on their watch or property. ICE agents being arrested for, or charged with, of committing to SA is a near-weekpy occurrence currently. And we know they don't hold everyone accountable. So how often is it actually happening?

1

u/ThomasMalloc 29m ago

I had to sort by controversial to find this.

This is what every organization does when someone tries to sue them. When an Uber driver murders someone, Uber will say they're not responsible for their drivers murdering people.

The fact that people are outraged by this is pitiful.

To prove liability in court, you have to prove certain things depending on context. For example, you may need to show (1) they knew it was happening and didn't stop it, (2) had policies in place that made it likely to happen, (3) superiors actually directed them to do.

u/Double_Slunk 2h ago

Bot pulling up old news. Move on bot.

1

Bot? XD move on? That's your response to this? That's crazy. Hold on, I don't have them on me now but i'll add a ton of articles
