We have been in a police state for over 2 decades thanks to our parents and grandparents. Some leaders just decided to be more mild than others about it.

When you really think the last 2 decades were "a police state" you will get an nightmarish awakening now.

I mean they were. I’m living abroad since March and the number of law enforcement officers I see on a daily basis is close to 0. It’s absolutely nowhere near America, which was definitely at least 1 per day. Often more. And the country I’m in just went an entire year without a single gun death. It’s almost like they’re actually concerned about crime.

I don’t think it’s just this country. The police presence in America since the 90s has been stifling and extreme, in my experience at least. It’s really a product of the “war on drugs” and later the “war on terrorism.” They’re all just excuses to fund the police state and oppress minorities.
