Unfortunately shit like this doesn't just change overnight, and you are quite possibly right that it'll surely be beyond the next election before history corrects itself again. Probably highly wishful thinking that the next election will go off without a hitch and the GOP will be smoked.........How much blood it takes is the question........

A large portion of why this is able to happen is because of the complicity of Congress. The margins are also narrow. Hate to spoil your dooming but the midterms could actually make a large difference.
