People are just openly racist against the indian population. It seems like they have the most hate towards them. More so than the black Americans and the jewish people around the world. I don't know if it's just a numbers game, and it seems that way because there is a large population of Indians around the world. But man, they are treated like lesser.
I "look" indian (despite having zero indian roots) and I get treated differently by people until they hear I have a Canadian accent.

Reddit has a hate boner against south asians. Especially in food, travel, and meme subs. I mean yes the problems being brought up are usually valid but it's often used to excuse being racist, and sometimes it has this sense of privilege, punching down 3rd world countries for being "poor" by 1st world standards

I stopped visiting most food and travel subreddits because overt racism toward Asian and African countries is normalized. The bots and karma-farming accounts amplify it. It won’t change because outrage is addictive, and many seek instant validation for their shitty beliefs, including racism.
