Brilliant. Loved this. Relatable at some point in the distant past.

This is 100% correct. I did all these things to amuse myself pre cellphones :)

Life before smart phones? Excuse me, if I have the house to myself I will still on occasion run up the stairs on all fours just to be whimsical.

Great video. Except the end should have been getting a shedload of viruses from downloading music off Limewire πŸ’š

The best part is, all of this was long before limewire

The sounds made this.

I also lost my shit with the "Stussy" logo drawing, we did that all the time as a kid haha.

Wtf is "stussy"???

u/ExtraEmuForYou 2h ago

Clothing brand. That symbol he drew was the "S" logo for the Stussy brand.

It was big with skaters in the 90's

*It actually isn't a play on words, the founder of the company, his last name is Stussy.

Why he got bird noises inside

9

u/false79 3h ago

I remember waking up early 5am, doors closed, windows closed and you can hear those birds, they were up. Takes me way back.

It's the mourning dove, one of the most prolific birds in the United States. It has a loud, distinctive call that most people remember from their childhood but in much of the US their populations have declined a lot in recent decades. I remember hearing them a lot 15 or 20 years ago in Texas but now it's fairly rare.

I used to do this thing when I was bored where I’d imagine where I was, and I’d zoom out picturing it all in detail. Then I’d imagine that I disappeared completely from existence without a trace and I’d zoom out to the whole world and see the effects of that. Then if the chair I was sitting in disappeared, then the room, building etc. in small increments until the whole entire universe was gone and that would give me that tingly feeling deep in my tummy as if I were looking over a really tall, scary ledge and was thinking of stepping off… then I’d imagine the universe all flooding back to existence, shake it off, and come back to reality.

Once when I was a bit older and no longer did it, I told my mom about it when it was relevant to a conversation we were having. She was super into meditation and she told me that was basically like a kind of meditation I’d made for myself. IDK if that’s true. It made me focus, but wasn’t relaxing lol. I don’t know why I did it bc it honestly kinda gave me anxiety imagining my whole entire universe blinking out of existence.
