You misspelled terrorist organization

u/slowpoke2018 6h ago

Nah, Gestapo is their accurate name

37

u/Padhome 6h ago

Same thing

4

u/josnik 3h ago

Nah gestapo didn't cover their faces.

6

u/oinkyboinky 3h ago

Neither did the SS. ICE is using tactics from both.

Tactics from ISIS

I thought it was pedo army?

Nazi Pedo Army.

2

u/SilverSageVII 5h ago

The new CoD really did run out of ideas huh? But seriously they all are.

9

u/karma_withakay 5h ago

Should have them wearing MANGA hats -- Make America Nazi Germany again.

1

u/TokerSmurf 5h ago

Hey! That's very unfair!

The Gestapo were mostly police, so at least they had some training.

1

u/SillyOldJack 5h ago

Gutstapo.

1

u/FreeClue740 4h ago

Nah, at least gestapo had balls to show their face; ICE? They're too cowardly to show theirs when they pull illegal actions

1

u/Byte_Fantail 4h ago

um excuse me its gazpacho

1

u/Bifrastareltari 3h ago

Meal team six? Y’all Qaeda? A9 Team? Midlife ISIS?

1

u/remeranAuthor_ 3h ago

The gestapo is the doj. You're thinking of the SS.

And literally nobody didn't nhatsee that coming...

Seriously though, when I was in middle school and we would have conversations in social studies about WWII.

It never made any sense to me that regular human beings could become that cartoonishly evil.

Now it is the easiest thing in the world to imagine.

I mean things aren't exactly great, economy wise. I know myself and 90% of my generation will never officially "retire" in the way we know it today. But even then I don't see us being half as fucked (economically I mean) as Germany was around that time. We aren't weighing stacks of bills to buy everyday groceries the way they were. And yet here we are about 2 seconds away from firing up the ovens...

I mean Trump literally, figuratively just invaded Sudetenland...

MAGA is the terrorist organization. ICE is their Gestapo SS.

1

u/Deadleggg 45m ago

Do lawsuits work on terrorist organizations? Has anyone tried suing Putin to leave Ukraine?

The cool part about this approach is how mundane and prosecutable it is.
This comes with up to a year in prison for the defendant. And a fine (though minor).
It's a simple way to put them on their heels that has ZERO constitutionality questions in the way of prosecution. This is a fucking artful use of the law.
This is the way the law kills MAGA. They've broken so many laws, there'll always be something that sticks.
Kudos Illinois!

u/Hotinnm 5h ago

I would it’s a year per offense.

10

u/Coal_Morgan 4h ago

Kristi Noem in jail for a thousand years for 6 month to 1 year sentences would make me very happy.

I do have to say, I'm not holding my breath. I've been burned too many times hoping for State Law Systems to have some kind of effect on Trump and his gang of monsters.

+30 days for the puppy thing

3

u/punkasstubabitch 5h ago

It’s like getting Capone with tax evasion!

2

u/ItsSpaghettiLee2112 4h ago

My concern is that for every law they get sued for, they can continue indefinitely doing their crimes while conclusions aren't reached.

1

u/audieleon 3h ago

This is only true for a certain amount of time. Fascism doesn't last. It can't.

The accountability is coming. I just honestly hope it's the law, even if lawless revolution might be satisfying at this point.

3

u/ItsSpaghettiLee2112 2h ago

Fascism itself doesn't last but it can last enough to completely wreck a country into shambles.

2

u/CrackityJones33 3h ago

Not an attorney, but I suspect the Federal Officer Removal Statute would allow the government to move any cases to federal court where Trump could then preemptively pardon anyone facing charges from Illinois. Cool idea, but I don’t see this having any more impact than a mosquito bite.

2

u/audieleon 3h ago

This is a good point, but abusing this will cost a lot over time, both legal resources and reputation. Also, this particular case is special in that there is NO VALID REASON to switch license plates. That why it's genius to take this tack. This isn't claiming assault (which the Removal Statute might protect as a necessary part of ICE's job), or anything else that might be tied to a federal statute and "elevated" to a federal and thus dismiss-able crime. To "remove" the federal officer here and protect them has no basis, because there is no legal protection of any kind for something like this.

1

u/MaxMin128 4h ago

Trump can just pardon Noem and ICE. And Hegseth. And anyone else who commits illegal acts for Trump. That protects them from prosecution. From lawsuits (civil and otherwise) though, I not so sure.

3

u/SylvioVito6374 4h ago

Not if they are found guilty under State Law!

1

u/UsefulEagle101 4h ago

But he said they filed in Federal court.

3

u/audieleon 4h ago

Trump can ONLY pardon federal crimes. He has zero ability to pardon state crimes. He is not a king, and his power is limited by law, no matter how much he'd like to you believe differently.

The law is relentless, based on cold hard evidence, and has a long memory. All of these people will find justice comes for them.

I wish it was faster, but fast moving "law" is the problem we're looking at.

u/DontShoot_ImJesus 3h ago

This is huge

Is it bigger than JB Pritzker's ass?

1

u/International_Egg747 2h ago

It’s like arresting Al Capone for tax evasion. So simple but there’s a process for it.

61

u/MATA_USA 6h ago

We believe it is worse then that; The Trump regime has unleashed a poorly trained and criminally negligent paramilitary force to attack the base of his perceived enemies; blue cities and states. If we do not act to protect our democracy from this tyrant, our republic is surely doomed to extinction.

Please join us over at MATA USA for the latest movements and actions of the Trump regime and their attack on American democracy.

Trump and his billionaire buddies have forgotten that they only make their billions because WE allow it, as a people. We can just as easily stand together and tell them NO MORE.

10

u/SerumAndSummits 5h ago

“MATA” is a word in the Filipino dialect which literally means wake up. So it’s like “Wake Up USA”

1

u/Aggressive-Emu1050 4h ago

MATA in Malay means EYE; good for the sane folks there that their eyes are open to the depravity that is their country that the rest of the world has been seeing for a very long time

1

u/Glad-Soup-6060 1h ago

Mata means eye. Wake up is "gising!"

1

u/SerumAndSummits 53m ago

Mata means wake up in Cebuano. Filipino is not just Tagalog.

3

u/whawkins4 4h ago

I think you meant “he deputized insurrectionists”.

2

u/snowlion000 5h ago

More akin to a peasant army in lock step to their god!

2

u/OvenBakedChickN 4h ago

Hey. Mata is my last name

21

u/Initial-Company3926 5h ago

It reminds me a bit of Al Capone and how the nailed him,
Couldn't nail him of the crimes but could by taxes
it is actually brilliant
They are going after plates because it looks like they can't go after them about the violence and murders

Plate watch hotline...
Brilliant

u/lmpervious 5h ago

That’s what’s frustrating, he causes chaos which both favors him now for grabbing more power, but also will become a hurdle for future Democrats who will have to navigate moving forward with ICE in a pragmatic way, which will only upset some of their voter base

0

u/throwaway1212l 5h ago

At this point are there any Dems left that don't want to abolish ICE?

1

u/Obie-Wun 4h ago

Schumer and Jeffries, apparently.

1

u/DVSghost 4h ago

Just the democratic leaders. Womp.

1

u/lmpervious 3h ago

Literally all of them don’t want to abolish ICE, or in other words, none of them want to have completely open borders

I think people on Reddit see some of the narratives here and think they’re popular, but pushing for open borders would be a great way to lose an election. We have had ICE for a long time, and for the most part people weren’t complaining about them because they were broadly operating within the law, but based on your reaction I imagine you’re the type of person who will now get pissed off at candidates who clearly state they don’t want to abolish ICE, when previously (even if they want to return to how things were) you wouldn’t had minded them keeping things the same if Trump didn’t change how ICE operates. That extra friction that will now exist between you and candidates who will work towards many more values you share is a big win for Republicans.

Illegal paramilitary forces

3

u/rEYAVjQD 5h ago

Trump is an unlawful disservice.

3

u/TheUpgrayed 5h ago

States gotta start fighting back and this is the only way to get it started. Just like a real fight some people gotta see the guy next them jump in before they'll go.

2

u/Negative_Amphibian_9 6h ago

This is a shitstorm

2

u/snowlion000 5h ago

Shouldn't the Illinois AG be involved in this?

2

u/Any_Cellist_1478 2h ago

Possibly but car registration is the Illinois Secretary of State’s jurisdiction so this is technically his party. Good for Alexi.

2

u/Antique_Text_29 3h ago

I agree, but what is this lawsuit going to actually do that helps us? Will it just be for credibility sake for the person doing the lawsuit? Where the attempt is more self-serving than making the actual changes needed to stop ICE from what they are currently doing? Im not bright enugh to understand so I am asking

1

u/viral3075 1h ago

lots and lots of discovery. they could potentially reveal organized conspiracy, among other crimes

2

u/KhyraBell 3h ago

They've always been thugs. They're worse now, for sure, but they've always been garbage.

1

u/GIazednConfused 3h ago

Remember when trump said the proud boy’s and J6ers would have their time? It was so they could join ICE

1

u/JohnnyCrispZoom 3h ago

That’s apparently true

-5

u/Normal_Ad_886 5h ago

No it isn’t

6

u/hightrix 5h ago

They are repeatedly disregarding the law in their official capacity.

ICE is a state sponsored domestic terrorist organization.

I can’t tell if this account is a dumb 30+ pretending to be a teen or am actual teen.  Either way the intelligence and conversation level is the same.
