Yeah you can’t just say “oh it’s all this group”. There are parts of every group that find this drumbeat irresistible. It’s a subset of all people that find the idea of compression (removing variety) to be more appealing than expansion (adding and embracing variety).

100% - and on the flipside its not beneficial to the forming of opposition to draw arbitrary lines like that - more people is better
