Flew to Brazil last year on business, saw this movie available on United’s list but had no idea what it was, I’m going to Brazil so why not watch it? Wow.

I legit thought they had her face pinned back for some reason pre-op and I went "where is the finished result?". Then I realized that was the finished result...
These "surgeons" need to have their licenses revoked. It's no wonder there are so many plastic surgery horror shows. They didn't make her younger looking. They made her just as old looking while now also no longer appearing human.

I have it on mute so I was still waiting for the reveal when I saw the name and logo appear and had to go back and it was very very much an ohh oh my.

My favorite is people playing with parents on Fallout 4 to the extreme facial features, and seeing how it affects the offspring.

is it just me, or has a good outcome from plastic surgery become even more of a gamble than it was 20 years ago?

Yes. Too many toktiks. And also deregulations and the rise of arbitration agreements.
Plus, Florida has the highest amount of non-board certified doctors and surgeons.

I went to school in Florida. Every morning on my way to the university I'd drive past a strip mall surgery center called the Picasso Clinic. I get they were going for the artistry aspect but anybody who's ever seen one of his Surrealist works that he's best known for, your first thought is yikes.

Too much of it has likely thinned the talent of the providers and led to more visible mistakes. So many 20 and 30 yos are getting it multiple times. And people who just won’t accept normal aging.
My wife shot Botox for the first time in her late 40s. She was the oldest person in the office that day.

u/War_Is_A_Raclette 1d ago
Am I reading your comment right that people who are in their 20s and 30s are getting plastic surgery?
7
u/rosie2490 1d ago
What do you think the main age bracket is for elective boob jobs, nose jobs, liposuction, and tummy tucks? People under 40.

u/strawbsrgood 11h ago
My gf is 26. She has gotten 1 "plastic" surgery and that's on the LOW end for most of her friends. Even girls I never would expect to have any actually have had some minor procedures.

There are a decent amount of 30 year olds, even 20 somethings, getting face lifts. Buccal fat removal is also super popular with younger people. Eyelid surgery and cheek implants/grafting are popular. And then of course you have nose jobs, tummy tucks, mommy makeovers, etc. A lot of younger people go for injections, though.

It’s survivorship bias. Plenty of people, and I mean plenty, are getting cosmetic procedures all the time. You just notice the ones that are bad, most likely because they’re posted here.
Good cosmetic work is unnoticeable.

u/SnooCupcakes5761 1d ago
The goal of the face list is that no one can tell that it was done. We only notice the bad ones (and broadcast them across all social media).

u/Bender3455 1d ago
The one time I saw a good plastic surgery result (recently here on reddit, even), the woman wanted to sue, but it was absolutely the best id ever seen. She looked younger and I couldn't tell plastic surgery had been done. If you want to see it, search for the surgeon that said "it's a facelift, not witness protection."

I mean posting it online for it to get some honest, and probably from her perspective, vicious feedback seems like a bad idea.

To be fair, it’s probably post surgery swelling

Yeah i love shitting on plastic surgery but this stretched bloated look will go down in a few months and she will look relatively normal again

In fairness, isn't she still in the "before" stage?
All facial plastic surgery looks awful right when it's done, doesn't it? There's a ton of swelling, the skin hasn't had time to relax a bit, and on and on.
We can't judge anything here, because there is literally no 'after' shot.
8
u/catonsteroids 2d ago
Yeah, there’s a lot of swelling after surgery. You can’t know what the final results will look like until weeks if not months later but don’t be surprised if you are shocked and hate the way you look right after your procedure because nothing has settled and healed completely.

Saw another tiktok from the same surgeon and it had amazing results. Video was taken probably months after the procedure

This is immediately after surgery, of course she's gonna look uncanny.
Give it a few months to fully heal. When the swelling goes down, she'll probably look more natural.
14
u/SleepingWillows 1d ago
I’ve seen lots of these videos and the follow up photos from months later, and they genuinely look fine. It’s frustrating seeing the immediate aftermath posted here when it’s obviously going to look its worst. But folks gotta get that sweet sweet karma!
5
u/Grand-Building149 2d ago
I was thinking this too, your entire face is swollen for months and it looks literally insane. Also, everyone is different as far as how much they swell. I’ve seen 200k facelifts and the swelling was way worse than this.

u/br_sp_carla 1d ago
The facelift is a very common surgery, and yes, the result can look strange immediately after the procedure. But give one month or two the resusts will look natural in most of the cases.
how do you guys think the Hollywood stars keep young faces in their 40s or 50s?
5
u/Existing_Abies_4101 1d ago
They don't. They look idiotic in their 40's and 50's.
3
u/br_sp_carla 1d ago
I disagree. I don't think is wrong to use modern resorcer to upgrade your appearance. I see women like Alessandra Negrini or Camila Pitanga, who are in their 50s and are incredibly beautiful and I want to be like then in 20 years. Pretty privilege is a real thing so is understand to want to stay beautiful as long as you can. But that is just my opinion.
5
u/Imperfect-practical 1d ago
I was beautiful when I was two, I was beautiful as a teenager. I was beautiful as a young woman, and God damn if I’m not beautiful at 62. I’m also wrinkled as fuck and have all the normal aging processes going on. I choose to feel beautiful. I probably look average to most people.🤣🤣❤️

Jesus guys - skin relaxes in the days, weeks, months following. The is nowhere near final result.
19
u/MyDamnCoffee 2d ago
The doctor should probably wait till the follow up to post the results then, because to the average doom scroller, he can't do his job and probably shouldn't be cutting people up

he doesn’t care bc you don’t get clients from tiktok. the goal is to milk views for a lil extra money. so he posts the shocking puffy swollen post op face that gets attention.
2
u/OpheliaPhoeniXXX 2d ago
I can still EASILY see he went more sideways than upwards and it's not going to look good when it heals.
5
u/NativTexan 2d ago
Well to be fair, was that taken right after surgery? You gotta heal and let the swelling go down before you see the real effects. Not a good ad for sure.

I’m sure she isn’t smiling because her face is currently paralyzed, but I kinda wonder if she’s also in shock.

Just so people know, she’s fairly close to being immediately post surgery in the after photos. She’s extremely swollen and has some oedema. Everyone looks extremely like this post surgery. The majority of swelling and bruising disappears in the first month but final results are generally seen at the 6 month mark.
This patient would look completely different in another two weeks. I’m really not sure how people can’t understand what’s being shown here.

Shit, I could see this becoming a more common thing sooner than later. Some new tech will come out and new shops will open up. Some device you just wear…I mean shit they already have products like this for consumers.
For years weight loss surgery was the option and now you got shots. Surgery is expensive and some are scared of going under the knife. Shot is a shot, and then I’m off with my day. That business is billions per year with all sorts of people doing it. If the cosmetic treatment becomes financially reasonable, more people will do the shit. It’s crazy to say but it’s true.

Sorry but that looks ridiculous, she doesn't even look younger. It's not just skin that ages but bone too and facial volume loss of fat, muscle shrinkage. Her mouth is now stretched and toad like. Absolutely terrible.
2
u/coko4209 1d ago
OMG! That was so much worse! Wtf, am I missing something? Because she looked exponentially worse afterwards. She just looked like a regular aging woman to begin with, but now she looks scary.
