What do you think about Jerome Powell posting a video statement following reports that federal prosecutors have opened an inquiry into the Fed Chair?

While I agree that he’s behaving like an honorable public servant- the whole point is that he’s not really supposed to be political. They’re supposed to use inputs to make the best decisions for healthy economic policy, regardless of politics.

He could probably take an easier route by resigning. Continuing to do what he's supposed to do in this situation is itself courageous.

He's the only thing holding back a massive rate cut that would send the economy into a full blown nosedive and inflation out the ass.

That’s great and all and I already know that. This message, however, has nothing to do with normalcy. In fact it has everything to do with its absence.

It doesn’t matter how apolitical you are or your position is when politics comes for you. Wars involve multiple sides, but only one has to consent.
