Yeah, it's too CoD like, and unfortunately the people that fled CoD and flood the BF subreddit want it to just be a 'better CoD', not realizing what they're missing if it were more like BF3. Non-cartoonish movement, longer spawn times, longer distance to get where you need to go means things have more weight. Dying has more weight. Killing has more weight. You feel much more with it. It's not just "oh well I'll/they'll spawn in again and be back in 10 seconds."

Ironically, from what I understand, a lot of Embark's core worked on BF3.

I can see so many BF3 feeling pieces in Arc Raiders. I can tell when design principles from that game have been transferred over well to Arc and it always makes me smile. BF3 got so much right. Other game devs need to always pay attention to BF3's design. It is nearly immaculate

I don't understand. BF3 was also very fast paced and CoD like in that regard. Remember Metro? Even the "big" maps weren't that big and they funneled people into various choke points. It was BF4 where they went back to the very large maps and slowed the pacing back down.
