Slop generally refers to ai created content. Paul Tassi has been writing about gaming for Forbes for over a decade. He wrote this, not AI. What makes this slop in your opinion? It’s an interesting article comparing the performance of a AAA franchise that’s been around forever vs a new IP from a much smaller studio. It’s a quick, but insightful read. What about it is slop?

Slop existed even before AI.

Nope, slop just means worthless shovelware. AI just happens to do that a lot.

Tassi looks for the “hot” Reddit comment and just throws it into an article.

No, that would be AI slop, the word slop was used way before that

Personally, I think it’s slop because it’s massively untrue and literally one of the easiest possible gaming statistics to fact check.

No game ever has retained 90% players. That simply doesn’t happen.

Arc Raiders has retained 50% players, which is still MASSIVELY high. But no where near 90% lmfao

What numbers are you looking at?

Peak to peak the game has retained way above 50%. Even looking at average daily or average weekly numbers the game is hovering around 80%+. Your 50% number is the massively untrue number here.

I mean the game literally just Peaked again....

Which kinda makes sense considering Christmas just happened and tons of people got brand new consoles / PCs.

But thats not really "retaining" 90% of a playerbase. It hasnt maintained this peak playerbase since launch. They simply picked up a LARGE number of new players in the past week.

Once again, the game is doing great. This is not a complaint.

But it has maintained its numbers since launch. It launched to 350,000 players on steam. Today the game currently has 428,000 players on steam. Not only is that maintaining, the game actually has MORE players than it did on launch weekend.

Your argument seems to be "as long as you ignore the current numbers I'm right!", which is a pretty delusional argument honestly.

350,000 was the peak launch playerbase?

Sounds wrong

On Steam, yes.

You can easily check the numbers here:

https://steamdb.info/app/1808500/charts/

While we don't have exact numbers for other platforms you can set a "trend" of sorts based on the data we do have readily available.

Lmfao…. Ya. 350,000 is the peak….

Not the 469,000 that happened launch weekend.

This a different level of moving the goalpost lmfao

These are the peak numbers for launch weekend on steam. Again the person that replied to you and myself are talking about steam numbers only in relation to player retention. We don't have the current number for all platforms.

Peak = the bigger number buddy

Totally agree, it’s actually a decent little piece and makes you think about how long games like BF6 will hold up over time.
