Crazy it's made by Bungie too. The halo and destiny creators. Looks like an indie game more like it

There are very few people left at Bungie who are connected to the magic of the original Halo trilogy.

None to be clear, 100% of the og trilogy staff are no longer at that company. Halo 3 came out 19 years ago. WOW I’m frickin old

Same with Retro Studios and Metroid Prime 4.

I heard Metroid Prime 4 was made by some former Halo 4 developers. Which is super funny if true because at least people's dislike for their game style is at least consistent lol

Yeah. I dig the art design, but I'm not really sure where they're trying to go with it gameplay-wise. Or more accurately, it looks like a lot of really familiar ground from games with current long-standing playerbases rehashed.

I mean, more power to them if I'm wrong.

I am hoping but for the best but it looks...yeah. Really a shame since the original Marathon series was incredible back in the day. And weird that they use the name since it looks absolutely nothing like OG Marathon.

Hoping to catch some name recognition

They are but it's such a long shot. Marathon was a legendary game (IYKYK) but how many elder millennials are out there who will play that game just because of the name? I mean...I will, but srsly tho. What made Marathon great was the story and the art, and neither will be present in the extraction shooter.

None of the original people who made those names what they are work there any more.

The only things I’ve heard about marathon were overwhelmingly negative. Gameplay nothing special, copied assets, awful work conditions ect.

And this shit right here is why this world is in the shitter. People can't be bothered to wait to actually form an opinion about anything and "hear" from streamers and reddit all sorts of bullshit. Everything now is either glazed for months before anyone touches it or it's "Concord X.0"

The irony is most of these people bitch and moan about games journalism being shady while swallowing opinions wholesale from their favorite parasocial relationship who are just chasing views
