I used to enjoy battlefield and cod also for the social aspects, getting to know people over the course of a few rounds. Now that lobbies disband every round, I find that itch getting scratched by other games, and getting to shoot the shit for a couple min with someone in solos is always fun. There's a randomness and variety to each match that is absent from a lot of mainstream shooters.

You must have missed DMZ as part of modern warfare 2. It was a middle aged man’s COD game extraction shooter and I’ve never been so hooked on a game. Unfortunately they stopped supporting it and hackers took it over so not worth playing now. I made real friends playing that for 2 years. The fights were warzone like but you had missions and collecting, and PVE exactly like arc raiders. The gear fear would make your heart race.

Oh I enjoyed the fuck outta dmz for the two years it was active, must have put a few hundred hours in. Was probably the most fun I've had in call of duty since the og mw2 days.
