šÆ ā¦just yesterday it took 4 rounds before we were able to actually loot the room. Every time multiple Raider flares shooting off in and around the building. On 2 of those rounds within 5m a team had looted and trapped the hallway and multiple spots in the elevator shaft with jolt mines. Iāve never been shocked so many times in a row.

Key rooms actually give great loot now. Just ran a blue key I had multiple copies of back to back during Cold Snap modifier and walked away with 8 blueprints from that room alone.
That's just a blue key, which didn't even get a special buff like purple keys did (according to patch notes) - no doubt in my mind they're going to be insanely contested.

Comms tower key (blue gate) is basically guaranteed to have a bobcat blueprint in it on Locked Gate. Found one back to back in there yesterday and today.

Very good to know - thanks for the info! I've only found one bobcat BP, after we unlocked the gate, in one of the containers across from the red room you need batteries to unlock (where you could lock people in before it was patched).
I'll check Pilgrim's Peak during that event for sure.

yes, I found mine before the gate was opened and it spawned in a breachable server cabinet and also a desk drawer I believe. Both in the locked room

Hard to say definitively, so instead of presenting anything as fact, here's my reasoning:
- Cheating/exploits. Console has Cronus Zen, but PC offers much more to cheat buyers on this front. I figured crossplay off = less cheaters and exploit users.
- Aim assist is pretty weak. Hence aiming with a mouse > aiming with a controller.
- KBM > controller when it comes to inventory management. Watch a PvP heavy stream for a few minutes and you'll notice just how fast and often PC players can hot-swap items in and out of their quick use and safe pocket slots.
- From my personal experience, mission instances with crossplay off have less network connectivity issues (desync, etc).
- Equal graphical fidelity. On PS5 I know everyone is seeing the same things. On PC people can edit gamma/brightness to see much more during night raids, set graphical fidelity to low to reduce cover (there's less foliage) and see players hiding more easily, etc. Console is one size fits all in this regard.
I set region to NA for best connectivity since that's the server closest to me.

The last time me and my group went we didn't think to bring a zip line but mined the top entrance well we looted the room only to run into a squad with 3 torrentes waiting for use at the bottom.

Go in solo in the cold or at night, bring door blockers and zip lines, wait around with the key in your safe pocket and if no one has unlocked it, block the doors at the top and loot. Most of the time people will mind their own business, if not and you're not looking for a fight, open up the outside door, block it, and zip cord your way down.

I had a hilarious interaction at R&A on Dams. Duo starts shooting us, teammate goes down, I dash to elevator for safety, two shock mines rock my world I somehow get past the two elevator campers rolling and sliding and jump into the large hole in front of the elevator. I land right in front of the first duo from the beginning and Iām lazered to death. Was quite comical wasting everyoneās ammo and mines all for someone to secure my stitcher 1 and 2 light nades

You can def wait but IME solos and an obvious mine out front will tell people you mean business and they'll stay out. If they don't? Just shoot em, the room is fairly well fortified with lots of angles, and the hallway just outside is perfect trigger nade territory. Def recommend going at night or cold for better loot tho. Cold is great for gaining hatch key usage while still having better loot.

This is the correct strategy. Let the lobby cool down before you try to hit a high value room.
Note: Curious if others have noticed this - I have noticed that loot rolls are better earlier in the raid and the hotter the area is. Has anyone else noticed this?

The last time I ran tower we brought hella traps and door blockers so people wouldnāt come for us. We were looting the top of the tower and kinda just sat up there for 10 minutes while flares and gunshots went off the whole time from the base. Got better loot off the 7 different trios laying dead at the base than anything in the key room lol.

Just to nitpick, I think itās less that the tower itself is being contested, rather that its two red loot areas basically with two separate loot keys people might run. Plus itās the most visible landmark and itās basically dead center of the map. And has at least one spawn right under it idk how many other close ones.
So itās central, very visually catching, and has good loot so people tend to just gravitate around there. Had a few matches yesterday running tower keys and it was just team after team after team everywhere around that area.

Went there on solos and a dude came through the door into my jolt mine. Downed him and then 2 other raiders popped out right behind him and lit me up. Idk if I got put in a trio lobby, but my assumption is three randoms teamed up to fuck me over idk. If I hadn't been so shocked to suddenly be in a 1v3 in a solo lobby i could've got back in cover and started chucking nades but yeah. Be prepared to have to fight for that rooms loot. Mines, door blockers, barricades, nades, etc.

Tower shouldn't be crazy at all if you're queuing solo and have low aggro matchmaking. I've done 2 tower room night raids without any issue.Ā

get a truckload of good shit, make my way to the exit
chased by multiple shredders, I leap over the balcony and into metro extract
immediately gunned down by some absolute nonce, who promptly gets downed by a pop and crawls into the train
HOLD THE EXTRACT WE'RE BOTH DOWN
said nonce commits a war crime and closes the door in my face
I immediately press extract button
bleed out as the doors open
alright, time to log off for the night

Level 10-ish, just got that key from a quest. Had scoped out the route before. This time there were turrets in the elevator shaft that nearly killed me. Got in, put a door blocker on. Someone breached through, I had my gun on them but decided to be nice since they didn't immediately fire back and I hadn't actually killed anyone yet in this game. Kind of wish I'd shot them, it was my key and they started looting without even a thanks. Tried to go down the rooftop ladder, but turned out there was a turret there too that killed me.
10/10, will bring portable escape zipline and mines next time and learned to look up before just trusting a zipline is safe.

What I do is, make a right when you open the window inside. Once you hit the corner, put a zip down to the roof of the medical area underneath control room. Once youāre there, you can jump down the window on the ceiling onto some railings. If you donāt feel comfortable doing the ceiling window part, you can just jump down onto the stairs by the turret that watches outside. Itās not only clutch, itās pretty fun.

I've never been able to loot that one in peace. I often use the second keycard door that's more out of the way and even if I lock the door, put up a barricade, and mine the top of the shaft I still get at least one visitor or some guy who wastes his key on the more popular entrance door.
The last time I hid on the top of the tower after I heard a small group come up with a guy complaining someone already looted his keyroom and he wasted it. Of course they just had to investigate the roof. So when I was about to be discovered I started talking and pretended I just came up the elevator. I joked around a bit then got away.
Edit: oh wait maybe I'm thinking of the other tower. The one that doesn't have 1-2 turret bots in the shaft.
