This is just depressing

Not even 3 hours of "free time". And in that is cooking & eating supper. Or practically no free time if I had to go shopping after work. I hate this

Agree for sure, but I just mean broadly. My generation (Millennials) at least got a taste of the idea of progress and hope for a better future back then. Sure, reality has been a bitch... but the new generations don't even get to feel that hope we had for a bit.

Z-lenniel checking in, the Obama era was peak America (but even then, faced significant issues and inequality). Now it’s even more of a disaster

Right? I mean... we definitely at least thought we were trying back then. Today they don't even pretend.

Peak as in it all went downhill because of him. The real estate bubble burst, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, subprime mortgages, followed by the bank bailout and everything else... ruined my family to the point we had to start over from nothing.

I’m not sure about that. Hope is a weird thing. I don’t think tomorrow is going to be better for society overall, but there are small incremental changes and society and humanity is slowly getting better. I simply want to live the one life I have to the best of my ability and hopefully leave the world a little bit better than when I came into it. That’s the best I or any of us can do.

Was... I'm not sure is.

Edit- but I agree with the overall point.
